we can discuss this in Novemeber and Chad's "great recruits" and "great" defense he left us!

i hope we are really good this Fall....love to see 6 wins, 7 wins, 8 wins
but you cant have it both ways....
if we suck this Fall you cant also say Chad left us loaded.
so I guess we'll see how much of a mess Chad left us in wont we?

I agree with this perspective.

I think we can also see that there are a ton of issues from Morris' strength and conditioning program, and it will see how far that resolves the competitiveness at the line of scrimmage.

True Jason....Sonny appears to have really upgraded our strength and conditioning staff with the hiring of Kaz Kazadi.

The keys to next year:
1. Does the new S&C philosophy of bigger linemen - as opposed to leaner, quicker linemen- improve the OLine. Or does the extra size simply slow them down where they are less effective.
2. Do the transfers and JUCO’s step in and contribute at a high level
3. Can Coach Kane improve the D with a better scheme and coaching.

If all are yes then I can see 7 wins and maybe an upset of TCU.

TCU faces Ohio State the week after the Mustangs..so I guess it's possible they could ovelook us? But TCU is ranked #8 in the country in the USA Today 2018 pre-season poll and #9 in the Sports Illustrated pre-season poll. Others have them ranked farther down, but still in Top 20. When is the last time SMU beat a team ranked in the Top 10 in the country?

Was Houston top 10 when we beat them a couple years ago?

Strength program will help but it's not going to turn our line into clones of Hafþór Björnsson.

Kaz was probably responsible for 50-70% of Baylor’s success, especially before they pulled in the bigger recruits.
