Son of Ben Crenshaw's Caddy to Walk On...?

Postby MrMustang1965 » Wed Apr 05, 2006 7:32 pm

Tried to post this on the Recruiting Forum but couldn't get access, for some unknown reason...?

Carl Jackson and Ben Crenshaw make up the most continuous caddie-player relationship in Masters Tournament history. This year's tournament marks the 30th anniversary of their first partnership at the 1976 Masters, which includes victories in 1984 and 1995, and Jackson's 45th year caddying in the Masters. Jackson currently resides in Little Rock, Ark., where he is the caddiemaster at the Tom Fazio-designed The Alotian Club in nearby Roland. The course, rated No. 1 in Arkansas and voted the top new private club in the country in 2004 by Golf Digest, was built by Warren Stephens, the son of former Augusta National Golf Club Chairman Jack Stephens. Jackson moved to Little Rock from Asheville, N.C., with his family two years ago at the suggestion of Stephens, who died in 2005. Carl's son, Jason, is scheduled to graduate from Little Rock Episcopal Collegiate School this spring and will walk on the football team at Southern Methodist University in Dallas this fall.

How's his golf game? Could he make the golf team if for some reason he doesn't make the football team?

He was supposedly offered by Arkansas a couple of weeks ago after somebody left their team, and he told them no thanks. Who knows.
