You don't see the difference between going into the AD's office and asking for an extension and having your friend write an editorial about it in the paper with the largest circulation in the Southwest United States? IMO, the Blackistone column advocating an extension contributed to the morass that led to Tubbs' firing.

IMO, Tubbs knew he was in deep sh*t when he went to Blackistone to publicly lobby for an extension. Going to the dmn worked when he had his buddies write the letter that pressured SMU to give him the job, so why not go to that well again????????

So that's why Max Williams fired him??

point is, who cares if Tubbs went to Blackistone or anybody else. Are there major proven violations or are there not? And what the hell was Max Williams doing? Those are the key questions now. Tubbs is gone.

I love you guys that try to wordsmith everything. Kind of like Clinton saying define "is"...........The guy committed violations. Not big, small, major, minor, pink ones, blue ones, sweet ones, sour ones - v i o l a t i o n s.........

His contract said do not commit v i o l a t i o n s - not do not commit big, small, major, minor, pink ones, blue ones, sweet ones, sour ones - v i o l a t i o n s.........His contract did not say you get a get out of jail free card if you are stupid enough to commit a violation in conjunction with a booster. It said commit v i o l a t i o n s and YOU are terminated - not the guy behind the curtain.

I have a novel idea. Everyone except jt and hoop take a vacation from this topic. Let's see how long those two can keep beating this dead horse between the two of them. I set the over and under at 8 days.............

Oh, and the first guy that gets pulled offsides by them has to buy the drinks............

hey Dr. Seuss, good one. Sweep this under the rug all you want, are there major proven violations or not? Its a simple question with a simple answer. Yes or no? If yes, what are they and how were they substantiated? Its not that hard, but I guess for SMU it is.

Geez, friarwolf, I never took you for Max Williams' official [delete]-smoker. By all means, let's fire the coach and continue to let the a-hole who suckered him have full run of the program, including personnel calls....
