what do you do about a school which never wins anything-ever? I guess you just keep firing coaches ever two years so all you geniuses keep donating money to the Mustang Club.

Historically, SMU has shown patience with its coaches and staff. To suggest that the Tubbs matter is the rule rather than the exception is disingenuous.

I don't know if you do that once that you automatically become a school where you only get two years to turn around a program......Usually I thought they give a coach a long [deleted] time and then blame it on the coach instead making the correct changes to our policies.

DBB has now admitted that this was a hoax post that Evans is not at this point the choice. If it is Evans, I will be happy with the choice, because I still fear that we'll get that 95 year old high school coach. Of course Evans isn't old enough to get us a Depends or Viagra endorsement deal like the 95 year old would.

This is the "easy" hire. This is not anywhere near the answer. Dr. Turner would not accept this kind of mediocrity anywhere else on campus, would he?
