But should we? After all, we'll be governed by George Kill Off A Conference and his ilk, the same guys responsible for the PAC's dilemma.

Not sure whether our playoff chances fall or rise with a change to PAC. But we will be more travel weary, to be sure.

If Oregon and Washington go B1G and the remaining 4 corner schools join the Big XII/16 I would expect WSU, OSU, Cal & Stanford to join the MWC. SMU would be wise to stay put and actually try to win a championship in the AAC while waiting to see what happens to the ACC

ACC is a dream come true but like the PAC situation things change and it’s too risky to wait for something that may or may not ever happen. To me, joining 4 current P5 schools + select AAC schools + select MWC schools is a risk worth taking. It elevates us, and not in name only. Despite playing @ OU and TCU ooc this year per SI our schedule is ranked #116 due to our conference schedule. AAC has really strong teams at the top and really weak teams down the line. So in 2024 even if we win the AAC our odds of earning the CFP berth are diminished due to weak AAC conference matchups. To me…the winner of a conference including PAC remnants+ SMU, Memphis, Tulane + SDSU+ Colorado St + Boise would gain the last conf champion berth every year.

Up until today, the PAC had an automatic bid to the playoff. I suspect that the CFP folks wanting to avoid lawsuits will tell the remaining PAC 7 that no matter who is in their conference they keep an automatic bid.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
