SMU TCU

Postby 1983 Cotton Bowl » Tue Jun 25, 2024 10:04 am

Going to come to Dallas for this one with my son. Due to his school schedule, etc. its looking like we fly in early Saturday. I know the start time is TBD, but is there any sense of when approximately it might be? I recall its been an early start the last few times. I'm assuming we have no clue at this point since it comes down to TV, but I thought I'd at least ask.

Pure speculation at this point but my question is who controls the TV on this game...ACC or Big XII? Depending on who controls and what other games those networks have that day, you might be able to make an educated guess. Rivalry games tend to get preferred time slots

Wouldn't it be the ACC, as an SMU home game?

It's not a conference game, but that's still the one I want to win most.

Yeah, me too. I really want to knock off the Frogs in Dallas. Its been literally 19 years since we beat them at Ford.

I'm headed to Big D to see the BYU game this year. That's a team we have NEVER beaten. We are 0-4 against them with 3 of those 4 losses coming from a combined 5 points. While I always want to beat the frogs, BYU is another team I feel like we really need to beat this year. BYU is a Friday night so will be nationally televised. I expect the TCU game will have a shot at being a national game, too

It would be a nice start to the season to kick Frog, Cougar, butts and go 4-0 non-conference. Then the FSU game would look real inviting to the suits.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

No doubt. I just hope we don't go 2-2 and become just another Houston, Cincy, UCF & BYU. None of those teams did better than 3-6 in Big XII play last year and Cincy was 1-8. That loss to BC in the Fenway Bowl has me questioning how SMU might fare this year

Worries me as well. We scored 11 pts against the goons, 17 vs frog and 14 against
BC. All power C teams. While our D preformed above expectations, our offense stalled.

No chance we beat FSU given how well stocked they are on the LOS. We also have cb
issues. While DJ U is not an elite level QB, its likely he picks our secondary to pieces imho.
Likely we get slaughtered. Certainly hope we are able to hang but I doubt it.
