SMU Volleyball Moves Up to No. 12 in AVCA Poll
DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Volleyball climbed three more spots in the latest AVCA/TARAFLEX Division 1 Poll, coming in at No. 12 this week.
The Mustangs took down No. 1 Pitt in Moody Coliseum Saturday afternoon in five sets after being swept by the Panthers three days prior in Pittsburgh. Prior to Saturday's match, the Panthers had only lost one set the entire year.
SMU has now knocked off the country's No. 1 and No. 2 teams, beating No. 2 Nebraska earlier in the season. The win marked the Mustangs' fourth win over a ranked opponent this season.
SMU Volleyball's previous highest ranking was No. 15 last week. The Mustangs have been ranked for five straight weeks.
SMU Volleyball will host another top-five team in No. 5 Stanford on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT. The match will air on the ACC Network.
