Re: SMU PGA golfersMac started on the back nine this morning and is 2 under. He played the front one under yesterday but might need to play the front 2 under today to make the cut
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac sneaks in right on the cut line thanks to his 3 under round today. Now he needs to play well again on moving day to get into the big money this week, but just making the cut at the Players will certainly boost his season's earnings
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac with a 2 under 3rd round that featured 4 birdies and 2 bogeys currently sits in a T-40th position and 3 under for the tournament. Another good round tomorrow would earn him a really nice check this week. The way guys are playing this week, it would take a course record 61 to get Mac into contention and even that might not be good enough. I remember Colt Knost making a run at the record but settling for a 9 under 63 years ago.
Re: SMU PGA golfersBogey double bogey start for Mac today has him slipping back to even par for the event and currently T-45th with 3 other golfers as they try to get this final round in before the weather arrives
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac finishes even par after his eagle at # 16 was offset by bogeys at # 14 and # 18. Plenty of guys still on the course who will be finishing today under tough weather conditions (in a lightning delay as I post this update). Mac is currently T-42nd with 5 others, 2 of which have several holes to play
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac finished The Players T-42nd with 7 others which earned him $81,688. Pretty good week.
Guys are going to need to finish in the top 100 on the Fed Ex Cup points list to retain their cards and right now Mac is # 148, Noah # 150 and Harry # 154
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac, Harry & Noah continue the grind this week at the Valspar in Palm Harbor, FL
Preview from Sports Illustrated: A week after the PGA Tour boasted its strongest field of the year, the Valspar will also feature an abundance of stars. World No. 3 Xander Schauffele, hoping to keep his Tour-best made-cut streak alive after returning two weeks ago from a rib injury, highlights the field at Innisbrook. Eighteen of the top 50 players in the world ranking and eight of the top 25 are teeing it up this week: Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Thomas, Sepp Straka, Shane Lowry, Viktor Hovland, Billy Horschel and Sahith Theegala.
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac's one under opening round has him T-16th among the morning players with several still on the course. Leaders in the clubhouse at 4 under. Harry & Noah with afternoon starts today
Mac is T-23rd and Noah at even par is T-39th. After a birdie start on his 1st hole, Harry implodes with back to back triple bogeys on # 13 & # 14 and finishes 6 over so doesn't appear he has much chance of playing the weekend
Re: SMU PGA golfersNoah finishes 36 holes at even par and T-39th while Mac is at 2 under T-14th and only 4 shots off the lead. Harry finishes plus 6 and well off the cut line
Re: SMU PGA golfersRound three in the books and Noah climbs to 2 under, T-24th and 5 shot off the lead while Mac fades to plus one and T-49th
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac finishes 9 shots back at 2 under, T-28th and earns another $55,843 while Noah collects $31,755 for his even par T-42nd finish
On to Houston
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac's 4 under opening round in Houston has him one shot off the lead while Noah's one over and Harry's 3 over have them in need of a strong 2nd round to make the cut
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac safely in after 36 holes at 5 under and 6 shots off Scottie Scheffler's pace while Harry misses the cut and Noah has to play 8 holes 4 under tomorrow to make the cut.
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac gets to minus 7 after getting to minus 8 through his 1st 10 holes, T-29th and 10 shots back after a roller coaster round that included 5 birdies offset by 3 bogeys
Re: SMU PGA golfersMac got to 9 under before a double bogey derailed him and he finishes at 7 under, T-39th and earns another $36,575 for his efforts in Houston. Now on to San Antonio
