Mustangs land coveted late addition to MBB class

Shooting guard/small forward Billy White III (6-8 / 195) of Corpus Christi (Veterans Memorial), Texas has reclassified from 2026 to the 2025 class and committed to and signed with SMU, according to his social media accounts. Most recruiting analysts have ranked him among the top 50 players in the country.

White chose SMU over offers from Virginia, Stanford, California, Missouri, Maryland, Kansas, St. John's, Tennessee, LSU, TCU, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, Texas-Rio Grande Valley, UCF, UTSA, Wichita State, Nevada, Sam Houston

Could be a great late pickup. I missed A.J. George's moving on (headed to Cal State-Bakersfield as a Grad transfer) and we needed another shooter. White appears to have a nice touch and 3 point range. As he continues to mature and gets stronger, he could become an upgrade/replacement for George.
