Nope, but it qualifies as home town Div. 1A football and should be covered in a special way.

17 days now. I sure bet everyone likes World Cup articles over local football teams.

don't be a [deleted]. Of course, more people want to read about the UNITED STATES in the World Cup. SMU drops Baseball, drops Track & Field, doesn't compete in Woman's Softball and you guys [deleted] and complain that SMU doesn't get coverage in June. There ain't nuthin' going on. Get it!

Personally, I love the World Cup stories (most coveted trophy in sports, etc.) Taking a very long lunch today to go watch the U.S. beat the Czech Republic, too.
If anything SMU related happens, I know it will be on PonyFans.com, anyway.
The World Cup will be even more fun to watch in four years, when Ugo Ihemelu is on the U.S. team!
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!

Nice DMN article on Schellas last week. I believe that counts as SMU coverage.

Sorry, soccer does not count. This is America, not France.

That's an interesting point. I would also guess the readers of Ponyfans are the only people that regularly attend the events. No, I don't think it is a coincidence. If we had close to UT's media coverage, Ford would be soldout every Saturday.

France? It matters to the entire world, and more and more, it matters here, especially at a school with one of the best programs in the country. Welcome to the 20th, if not the 21st, century.

It's a winner's town. The Cowboys always get great coverage, but when they went 0-15, there were thousands of empty seats every week. The Mavs, in the 1990s, played to far more empty seats than occupied seats. The DMN could have an SMU section every day, but only more wins will sell the place out, and I'm sure you know that.

Yes, McClown, if you do not want to include non-revenue sports then you should change the name of the thread.

Every time I think it has become impossible to top the last one, you make an even more ridiculous statement. Congratulations.

If I am so silly about wanting football coverage, why has the DMN done two stories about UT football?

...because they are the defending national football champions, McCLOWN! I can see why you find the NYC cocktail gatherings troubling / a bore, maybe you need to expand your circle of "topics". Turn on the Rice / Ou game, it will help...
