Traditionally, freshmen guys don't wear shirt and tie, only upperclassmen. But I dont see anything wrong with the sundresses and shirt and tie, it makes us look classy- this is SMU, not North Texas. As long as someone as a red or blue tie, it looks fine...it always pisses me off when I see a guy in the stands with a black tie that looks like it cost 9.99 at Target.

I can't believe BIGHORSE hasn't voiced his blow-hard opinion on this subject. He seems to think he is the uniform Czar

I agree. I get my black clip-on at WalMart for a roll back price of $7.88. I hate those snobbish Target lovers.

I'm just getting tired of looking across the field at the SMU student section and seeing 3,000 - 4,000 guys in shirts and ties and 3,000 - 4,000 girls in sun dresses. Those 6,000 - 8,000 students cheering wildly need to be wearing red shirts - polos, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. This is college, not Jesuit or St. Mark's on a school day. Be a fan!

Hold out a litlte longer. When you get to be my age you can not tell what they are wearing on the other side of the field. To me it has always looked they they were wearing chair backs.

Not sure what stadium you're talking about, but it clearly ain't Ford. There probably haven't been 6000 to 8000 students at all of our football games combined since it opened. Hell if we were that lucky to get that many interested students wwe should pass out the opposition's shirts if that's what they wanted....

Still don't know why we can't compromise. Retain the SMU image (I love a school having a good gimmick) with the ties and such...... but make them red and blue. Classy dress and fan attire need not be mutually exclusive.

i agree the ties seperate us from most schools (exception Ole Miss)... all stadiums do there own thing, maroon out etc. but i think the ties are great, we just need more in the stands!

Not just exception Ole Miss...also exception Virginia (believe it or not even with Orange Fever there are still ties in the stands) and exception Vanderbilt (at least someone told me that)

All I'm saying is that only red or blue ties should be worn on gameday, as opposed to gaudy ties that arent even our colors...
