Looks like another great pony added to the stable, by the Boss Phil Bennett! Welcome to SMU Chris Butler!

what kind of running style does he have? the article said he played FB in the wing t... is he a potential blocking back for DM? at 5'10 205, gain about 20-25 pounds and at "4.5" he could open up some big holes to run through! Also any stats on his bench, squat, clean, etc.?

I forgot exactly but I think I saw something like 400+ bench-he sounds like a Massey type. I wouldn't dismiss those numbers because he also appears to be a Top Javelin thrower

If people have rivals subscription, there are two clips of Chris. Take a look at Reel 2 and you will see him bulldoze a LB, take the guy back five yards before discarding the LB and continuing down the field.
Quick thoughts: Decent speed, good power, always has ball in left arm and tends to be a bit slow on the cuts. IMHO
Another interesting thing is that looks like his HS team runs same offense as we do, so the learning curve may be heavily reduced.
First reel shows Chris playing OLB and making some decent hits on the opposing RB.

He hails from the same hometown as Jarrian James. If anyone knows Jarrian, we can only hope he has the same amount of character and dedication, except with Chris, I hope the coaches find a position for him early and let him develop.

Are you talking about RB Kelvin Thompson? He'll be playing in the 69th Oil Bowl at Wichita Falls' Memorial Stadium on June 17th. Kick-off at 7:30 p.m. It features all-star high school players from Texas and Oklahoma in a charity game sponsored by the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
