I never bought tickets to this year's game. We're not going for the same reasons that MustangStealth wrote.

We were in Sec. 9 three years ago, too. A downright awful experience.

I went to Lubbock once. Worst week of my life and I did not even stay over night. I figured you would be on your own for tickets there. By the way....San Diego is very nice. Thought I would check in while moping in my room for not playing golf.

When I grow up, I want to have your seats AND your technology. There is so much I could have told the ponyfans on my honeymoon in Hawaii, much of it thread-deletable, but I just did not have the technology.

OK guys, Lubbock isn't a bad place and you aren't going to be pelted by dust at the game. I live in DFW these days and while I don't have the springtime dust to deal with, I do have the smog year round.

As far as hospitality, if you had a bad time in Lubbock it was probably because you looked for it. Most visiting fans enjoy the trip to Lubbock. A couple of years ago a Coloado sportswriter went to a Big 12 game in every stadium wearing a T shirt for the opposing team. He went to a Tech game wearing an Aggie T shirt and said he had a blast tailgating with the Tech fans and enjoyed the fans he sat with.

The Big 12 North teams and the out of state non conference teams that bring fans never seem to have a problem in Lubbock. It is generally the old SWC fans who never wanted Tech in the SWC to begin with.

For those who do make the game, park at the remote lots near the basketball arena and ride the bus to the game. Waive and say hi to Tech fans as you walk down the street and amazingly enough, they will smile back, waive, and thank you for making the trip.

We are going to cheer a win loudly just like SMU would. I remember watching SMU spank Tech in Dallas back in 81 and the SMU fans were very loud and obnoxious and you had every right to be. I don't know why you don't the situation being reversed should be such an odd thing.

Cheering loudly for your team is one thing. Whooping it up when they stomp their opponent is fine. But running - literally! - into the visiting team's section and verbally and physically assaulting their fans is where I draw the line. I presume you weren't at the game three years ago so I doubt very much you have any understanding of what the Red Raider fans did to the Mustangs fans. I also doubt you have any understanding of what happened at Ford Stadium when the Red Raiders last played here. The attitude and mentality of their fans towards the host team's fans was again deplorable. I presume you weren't there, either. It'll be a cold day in Hell before I attend another TT game in Lubbock.

I really get a kick out of the angst of the whiney fan going on a roadtrip and being offended by the behavior of the home team. There's no crying in football!

Hey, Winchester...I can put up with it. However, I will not put my daughters in that kind of environment, if at all possible. If you have kids, you should understand.

I brought my kid to both games and the only thing that upset him was how non-competitive our football program is when we get our asses kicked by about 120-15. There are jackasses every where-even SMU.
