I am at least happy that when they show last year's record for them the one loss was to us

And TCU's band flat out sucks!!! They boast about selling out the Tech game. Right, thanks for all the black and red that will be in Amon Carter on the 16th

...it should be pointed out that TCU was without standout RB Robert Merrill, without standout RB Lonta Hobbs, without standout WR DePriest and for the 5th straight year had their QB knocked out of the game early and had a REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (hmm) with little preparation come in and efficiently operate the gameplan and yes the passing game and in fact make the key plays to win the game

Next year's opponents

Postby Sam I Am » Sun Sep 03, 2006 9:02 pm

This thread is relevant since we are scouting our next year's opponents. We have come to expect what TCU will do, and they did it again. I initially thought that Baylor's new spread passing attack was an offense on the cheap. But now I appreciate that thier coach used it at UK and before. He isn't just imitating Tech. The Bears bare watching because it's not your father's Baylor team any more.

A good win for non-BCS

Postby Sam I Am » Mon Sep 04, 2006 5:48 am

Even though I am not a Frog fan and Baylor was a sympathetic underdog, the TCU win bolsters the non-BCS cause. It was the breakup of the SWC that doomed SMU, not just the DP. TCU has found a way to succeed on the field and in the stands as a non-BCS school that only the CUSA transfers to the Big East have escaped. Rice, Houston, and SMU have been left out of BCS memberships because of poor home attendance and a small fan base. Winning in Dallas might not even cure that problem for SMU. Low attendance could even affect getting CUSA minor bowl invitation once SMU wins 6 or more games this year. After all who is going to be able to guarantee the minimum ticket sales required of our invited bowl team? We shall see if the new AD can really promote football business when that happens.

With an offense that only scores three points and can't even have 200 yards of offense....any talk of a bowl game for SMU is a bit premature!!
