Stock rising
UAB - impressive against OU
Rice - wow, nice try.
Memphis - had to stop them one more time to get a chance to tie

Even/Unknown
SMU - we'll see next week, probably could have been a 28-10 game - depends on how good Tech really is now.
UCF - wins against 1-aa
Marshall - loses as expected against a top WVa team
S.Miss - plays a good first half then gets blown out

Stock falling
UTEP - Jekyl and Hyde Jordan Palmer
Houston - shows how beatable they are
East Carolina - not a good team, loses to Navy.

UTEP won a road game against a team from a quality conference. That is a 100% positive, East Carolina lost a close one on the road to a generally competitive Navy team under Paul Johnson. I think that is better than what they were supposed to do and much better than some who think they will finish in the cellar. BTW Navy had a Sagrin Rating based on last year almost exactly equal to Tulsa and about 50 teams higher than SMU right now. I see SMU struggling to beat ECU in East Carolina. Will be a very tough game just like all of our road games. UH won a rivalry with a 16 point comeback-which should give the team an emotional boost. Winning on the road by one point is all that matters-when are some of you guys going to realize that. And plus you forgot Arkansas St which tore down their goal posts after beating Army. I see SMU's schedule as much tougher than some anticipate. The projected close games we need to win in conference as well as NTSU are on the road the more difficult games are at home. That can be a dangerous combination.

I think SMU's schedule/conference just got harder after this weekend.

But I dispute how significant that 1pt victory is for Houston as a ROAD game at Rice...

I give UTEP credit for a road win. After 2 quarters I thought they could beat Tech this weekend. After the game I seriously doubt it.

Same place SMU lands if we lose to your alma mater SHSU, or NTSU
(aka UNT), or Arkie St.

We didn't lose to a Div. 1-AA school first year back from the DP. Beat
UConn, and NTSU in 89.
