Flying on 9-11

Flew out to Lubbock this morning. Not nervous a bit, even though the TV in the Gate 6 lounge at Love Field kept showing 9-11 remembrances. (Gate 6 is the Lubbock gate, for you infrequent fliers).

I've got a flight back this afternoon. I feel even better about the airport security flying back. It's been my experience that the smaller the airport, the more serious they are about security. I can guarantee you the terrorists will never get us through Lubbock or Lincoln, Neb.

In fact, I'm a lot more confident about flying today than the SMU athletic director seems to be about Phil Bennett's future. Speaking of which, the SMU Football Blog has a pretty good take on what the typical Mustangs fan suffers through. I'm sure the fans at Northwestern and North Carolina State can identify with it.
