When SMU goes to a bowl game this year, I hope it's further away than 35 miles to the west of Dallas! Cowtown sucks.
Not much else to say -- right you are.

We are in no postition to even think about caring what bowl. If we are lucky enough, I would be happy going to a bowl game anywhere - and I mean anywhere.

I'll rephrase. I hope SMU's record warrants a bowl game further away than Fort Worth! Cowtown sucks.

Let's be perfectly honest. The BYU team that defeated

TCU on Thursday would run rough shod over any team

in C-USA and numerous other teams. No?...just ask Tulsa.

Not necessarily. SMU beat TCU last year. SMU destroyed by A&M. You just never know until they line up. We beat Houston and UTEP last year. Who would have really thought that possible after the SMU-Tulane game last year. I'm not ready to anoint Tulsa as the class of the league either.

I don't think BYU goes undefeated if they played the full CUSA schedule. Let's not give them a BCS berth just because they beat the mighty frogs.

Texas Monthy has never favored TCU, athletically. Yet, they can agree that he is a wonderful coach.

That is simply my point...

Regardless, we lost.

Good luck, Ponies!

Every time I see Coach Fatterson on the sideline, with his pants pulled up under his armpits, I keep waiting for a "SNL" skit to break out on my TV.

Does he remind anybody else of the "Grimsley" character done by Martin Short???

Let's see, would I want Patterson and his record at TCU as my coach, or Bennett and his record at SMU?

Doesn't take long to come up with an answer, does it?

As a SMU fan, I would switch in a heartbeat. Give me the record and bowl games, and I wouldn't care if he looked like Mrs. Doubtfire.

Amen. We won a game last year, big deal. TCU would easily beat us this year. Their program is superior, face it.

And Ft. Worth is pretty cool...I like going over there.

There's that vaunted SMU school spirit!

You don't know who will win until you play the game. A lot folks said last year that TCU would beat SMU. Wrong.

As for Fort Worth being 'pretty cool'...to each his own.

Just out of curiosity, what's cool about Fort Worth?

Not to say Patterson is not a better coach, but I doubt his record would be the same at SMU that it is at TCU given SMU's past recruiting restrictions, model, etc. He took coach Fran's players and built on that and has done a good job of it so far. Bennett took coach Cavin's players and basically started from scratch. Apples and oranges my friend.

Because in the grand scheme of things..."A" comes before "O".

Actually, no, he didn't. Fran didn't do much of recruiting while he was at our institution--in fact, some will argue that it was all Mr. Patterson's doing.

I would be one who argues that.
