I have heard you guys talk about what a jerk Craig James is for the last few years but never really saw or heard it. Now that he is doing weeknight games on a regular basis, I clearly understand all of the venom that has been thrown his way. He deserves every bit of it. What is his freakin problem???? I am not an SMU grad but I am sick of the way that chump takes any chance he can get to throw SMU under the bus. The discussion doesn't even have to be about SMU or CUSA and yet he still manages to sneak his smarmy little jabs into the conversation.
I hope SMU never makes the decision to bring him back and/or retire his number (if it hasn't been retired already). Sorry for the rant but I can't stand that guy.

I think it's the Stallion and jtstang model. I'm serious. CJ apparently thinks he'll help his alma mater by publicly and repeatedly criticising it. That someone will be so embarassed by his comments that they'll pull their heads out and improve things.
Problem is, that approach does way much more harm than good.

Look around. What you're doing is not helping either.

Why do you feel a need to always attack me? My post was made in good faith. Not confident enough in your own opinions that you can't handle a contrary opinion?
Let me say this. I'd love to be wrong. I'd love it if you were helping SMU instead of hurting it. I just don't believe that to be the case. And I believe I have a thoughtful argument that deserves better than attacks and personal cut-downs.

Not attacking you, sunshine. Just the results brought on by your model.

Well, I did not say it brought on the current condition. It just isn't changing it. In other words, the results are a nullity.
Now please explain how expressing my opinions, which are really nothing more than historical factual recitations, is hurting SMU.

Can't we all just get along?
I don't think that anything any of us say or do is going to affect anything, but Craig James needs to stop with the remarks about SMU. Can't he find another pinata to hit? Or is he a one-trick pony? While it gets our name out there, it's not in a positive light. As a public persona, people listen to what he says. Whether we're winning or losing, his words may be the only news that people hear of SMU. Granted, CJ primarily shows up on non-major games, but his words are getting to some people. He just needs to adopt one of my favorite lessons from my mom...

See now that's funny. If you'd called him a "one-trick Big Pony" it would have been even funnier.

Can someone tell me exactly what dear old SMU did to [deleted] CJ off after the announcement that we were going CUSA?
It seemed like such a lovefest at that CUSA news conference whenever it was. "I have a bumper sticker that says SMU DAD." Remember that quote?
