Terrance Ganaway Game FileModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Through 4 games Terrance Ganaway has 836 yds. rushing (right at 8 yds. per carry and 209 yds. per game). He also has 10 rushing TD's and a passing TD.
Terrance Ganaway Athlete / Dual-threat quarterback DeKalb, Texas Height: 6-foot-0 Weight: 199 pounds 40-yard dash: 4.64 seconds Bench reps: 21 Vertical leap: 30 inches Shuttle time: 4.68 seconds "I’ll play anywhere they put me at. I just want to play football. I bring good quickness and I can make plays on the run." -DeKalb athlete Terrance Ganaway SCHOOLS OF INTEREST: Committed to SMU Also considered: Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, TCU (offer), Tulsa He is listed as 6'1" - 205 now. I would say he is a little stronger and a little quicker at this point of the season than when all of these numbers were taken. You would just have to see him play to understand.
In DeKalb's first district game @ Paris Chisum, Terrance Ganaway once again ran wild, rushing for 252 yds on 31 carries and 3 TD's, including an 85 yd. TD run late in the 3rd qtr. DeKalb's other starting tailback also had 173 yds. on only 12 carries and 2 TD's.
Terrance also had several awesome hits from his free safety position on defense, with a couple of the kids that he hit having to be helped off of the field. Terrance now has 1088 yds rushing (217 yds per game) and 13 TD's in 5 games this year.
BTW you say that DeKalb has another starting TB-and I've noticed he's put up huge numbers this year with a very high yards per carry too. Does Ganaway switch to QB when the other kid is at TB? I doubt you'd want a kid like Ganaway off the field at the 2A Level. It just appears that this other kid may be getting some big yards because they are keying on Ganaway. How often does he play QB? TB? FS or do they put both kids in at the same time.
Ganaway runs TB, FB and QB each about 1/3 of the time. He plays FS pretty much every play, too. He is also our punter, so he is on the field practically every play of the game. And, I know it sounds like we are basically a one man team, but that really isn't the case. Although, he does make everyone else a lot better and more effective than they would be without him on the field. The other kid runs TB when Terrance is at FB or QB.
Terrence Ganaway ran for 283 yards on 30 carries and 3 TDs and intercepted a pass on defense helping DeKalb to its 5th straight victory over Cooper 27-12. TD runs of 28, 55, and 1 yards. Now has over 1300 yards on the season. BTW I noticed that Cooper had a 88 yard KO return and a 1 yard TD run by a familiar sounding name-Ronald Morris. Since both Ronald Morris' were from Cooper I wonder if they are related.
Maybe he went back to get his degree.
Ganaway's stats this week were with our other hoss running back not suited up because of a slight knee injury, so they were keying on Terrance every single play. Another great week for Terrance and the DeKalb Bears. Not to mention Terrance turned 18 today. Happy Birthday Terrance!
I will post the exact stats tomorrow, but just trying to keep up and figure in my head, Ganaway had right at 315 rush yds, 4 TD's and a 2 point conversion (26 points) in a 30-26 win over Honey Grove. Being that we had 2 other RB's out with injuries and a Sophomore filling in at fullback, Terrance's stats are that much more impressive. He also had to return kickoffs and punts tonight, and had a couple of nice returns to go along with 2 or 3 punishing hits from his free safety position, which he played the entire game. Oh, did I mention he had 3 punts over 35 - 40 yards......LOL!
I hope he has something left for y'all when he gets to SMU. But, he is the kind of kid that will take whatever you give him, and get the job done.
The rush yds were actually 317 on 26 carries. Also, Honey Grove made it to the DeKalb 2 yd. line with a little over a minute left in the game before Terrance punched punched the ball out of their RB's hands and DeKalb recovered to seal the game.
That is 1688 yds and 20 TD's in 7 games. DeKalb is off this week, so we'll see y'all in 2 weeks!
