Marshall Attendance Thread

Postby SmooBoy » Wed Oct 11, 2006 11:30 am

Beautiful football day in Dallas predicted for Saturday - highs in the 60s, overcast, chance of rain - football weather. With all the news (good or bad) we've received this week and with Marshall bringing parents and cheerleaders only (okay, and double-wides), will we break 11,000?

Wishful thinking attendance ~ 16,201
Predicted attendance ~ 10,784

The reality for the casual fan is "what's a Marshall?"

Aren't you being a little redundant in saying Marshall will be bringing their cheerleaders and their double-wides?

In all seriousness, attendance ~ 14,320

We should start giving out prizes to those who come the closest to announced attendance.

The EQUATION: 10,000-12,000 + Opponent Attendance + Special Events(Homecoming, Parents Weekend, Cub Scout Day) = SMU Game Attendance

those prizes should be related to increasing attendance . . .like free tickets to the next home game, or beer coupons for the BLVD (not that you need them, just walk up and down and you bound to get louded for free . . . bunch of drunks!), etc. . . .
Sports, and all that implies.

Marshall Attendance - Any tickets?

Postby ReedFrawg » Wed Oct 11, 2006 4:20 pm

Anyone have any (free) extra tickets for the game on Saturday? I will use them and pull for SMU. Thanks in advance.

Is there a Marshall High around Dallas? I went to Marshall in San Antonio.

There's an SA Marshall (In San Antonio) and Marshall High (In Marshall, Texas)...Marshall HS is in East Texas...bout 25 minutes (if that) from Longview.

One addendum is that if they reinstate Willis, I think that brings another 1,000 curious fans out of the woodwork. We might break 12K if Whatcha Talkin' Bout is there.

By the way, weather is now predicted to be mid 70s and rain will hold off until the evening.

Marshall fans tend to travel well, but the distance between your schools may prove otherwise. Plus they're not as strong as in the past so that will likely hurt the caravan numbers. Still, don't be suprised to see several green and white-clad fans.
