Sometimes, that's true.
No way to know if that theory applies in this case, but it does sometimes happen.

I would assume this will be one where they'll start one guy, and if he's moving the chains, they'll stay with him. Otherwise, they'll rotate until they all have a chance.

I did not hear anyone complaining that Martin was being put in too early before the UTEP game. It is a bit late for that comment.

I would still love to see Henderson at RB.. he's just as big as Mapps.. and he seems even more explosive.
I wonder if there's a reason we're not seeing him more in the backfield. Could they just want him to concentrate on the return game? I would think that's a waste of talent if that's the reason
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

Martin is still today eligible for a medical hardship should his hamstring injury be a bad one. One more play in one more game and the hardship is not available for this year. If this injury is going to sideline him for more than one game, they should again consider the medical hardship. I had said last week that if he reinjured his foot (and now the equivalent has happened) and we won at UTEP they should consider holding him out and using the hardship. Now I think he should be used because I think he can be instrumental in helping us win some more games, if it is feasible to use him no later than next week. It is going to be difficult to reach the goal of a bowl without all of our available ammunition. A win last week would have made things much better.

If it was just the return game I do not think they would risk him on the kickoff coverage team where he was knocked out against SHSU.

the only problem mrydel is that the medical hardship is not automatic and is often denied. You have to submit all kinds of medical proof to establish the hardship too which I think would probably be rejected if he is able medically to return this year. Plus Phil is trying to save his job-Martin is going to play.

I wholeheartly agree with the job saving thing. That is why I thought they brought him back last week even if not fully ready so they could either have him or have him as an excuse if he got hurt worse. From things I read on other cases with medical hardships the "experts" on the subject indicated that if you were hurt in the first half of the season and had not played in more than 20% of the games it was a slam dunk for the hardship. But then again this is SMU. Aside from that the job saving factor trumps it all.

I just would like to know, for the record, Stallion.
Do you or do you not want Bennett to lose his job at SMU?
