You need a third choice of "other." The 1992 team finished 5-6 and would have been 6-5 like the 1997 team had our kicker not shanked a 20 yard fg to end the Tulane game. Moreover, this team was playing in the SWC and won some conference games including the revenge game against UH - seniors got to avenge their freshman season humiliation. They also beat Arkansas and TCU that year. It's a close call, but I think the 1992 guys were better. As for this season, it's too early to tell. The competition is significantly weaker than the competition that either of those teams faced. However, if this team gets on a roll and closes strong, it will be tough to argue with an 8 win season - not saying it will happen, but if it did happen . . .

The competition is so incredibly weak now compared to the teams we grappled with in the SWC days. I'd say the 5-6 1992 team has been the best since the DP.
