And I failed to mention, while the officer is the process of making an arrest! Just how dumb are we?

This will be easilt contested and dropped. No worries Ponies...now if it were HPPD, they would have assault charges with a weapon planted on them...oinkers

if it was HPPD, all Sledge and Duke had to do was show their SMU IDs and would be taken home.

Why do people choose to badmouth the police on a public forum?

the hits/assaults/arrests/suspensions just keep on coming.
Hey, as a resident of lower Greenville, I am all for the police presence, and all for them being tough on people fighting.

i agree with you mr. jtstang. I feel for those residence that have to deal with the heavy crowds and congestion that goes on near lower greenville. They need more police patrol down there because alot goes on.

Dont worry. In a few months Rico Harris and Melvin Williams will be DPD. Then we will have some of our people on the inside.

Didn't the same thing happen last year on Greenville? Or something similar with the Dallas Police and a football player who got maced for no reason?

Ahh yes... and my favorite quote from that movie...

Midleyan_Park wrote:There has been way too much controversy and people not knowing what exactly happened the night Hasson and Sledge "got in trouble". I was there when it happened and this whole thing has been completely blown out of proportion. A friend that some players knew apparently ran into a girl and some random people there got angry and tried to start a fight. The lights at the bar then went on and they were relocated outside. Hasson proceeded to talk a police officer (and was completely sober) to get a friend out of trouble. They threw him to the ground and maced him. Sledge then came outside to tell the cops that Hasson was innocent and he was just trying to get his friend out of trouble. Sledge was also sober, and despite what the paper says, because I know the writers of DMN were not there, Sledge tapped a police officer and the shoulder to tell him that Hasson wasn't involved. The officer grabbed Sledge, maced him as well, and three or four cops threw him to the ground. Both Sledge and Hasson were trying to get their friends out of trouble and did not harrass the officers. There should not be any more discussion over Sledge and Hasson because we know their reputation and what stand out guys they really are. Lets talk about next week and beating ECU. GO STANGS
So, Sledge and HAsson tapped DPD on the shoulder like Desparate Housewives' Eva Longoria did and got arrested...
Well, I can assume these guys are good guys, but didn't DeMyron martin et al get into trouble just trying to 'get their friend's out of trouble' last year?
Quit getting into trouble and the cops won't bother you.

Excuse, me.
This grill is off Central & close to campus-- we ain't talking 'bout Deep Ellum, here bitc$.
As much as I respect the "badge", the DPD's continuous attacks on SMU students are on the verge of being out-of-control. And I'm not talkin' about just SMU FB players....

I ran into melvin williams at 7-11 and he didn't know about the recent events that took place. Melvin did have to say that while at the academythe instructors made him the butt of their joke when talking about how the DPD likes to tase and mace SMU football players
