You start off this thread stating PB should be fired. And then later you come up with this one about taking it one at a time.

Two weeks ago, you said Corey Slater should get the start and then later say in Willis we trust.

With you, it appears that whichever way the wind is blowing, you are in that camp. You have convictions that change on a dime and there is no consistency with anything that you write.

What is the matter with you?

The only thing we do know is that you are trying set records for posts in a month.

I said this to you before. Think before you write and don't write for the sake of doing it.

I said Slater should start the Marshall game because he had MORE REPS in practice and earned it. PB said that Slater will start that game. I NEVER ONCE SAID to leave Slater in there and keep him the starter. I said that Willis should come off the bench like he did and lead us like he did. In Willis we trust because he is the offensively leader of this team.

GO BACK AND READ SOME OF MY PAST POSTS BECAUSE YOU WILL FIND CONSISTENCY. I have ALWAYS said "take it one game at a time" because that is how you play and win games. By focusing on what is at hand you can go somewhere.

I dont see this team winning 6 games because of set backs like the ECU game and the UNT game. That is why I think PB should go. There is still 5 games to be played and if PB cannot get this team to a bowl, HE NEEDS TO GO.
I do think before I write and I am not trying to set records for posts in a month. Sorry if you think I post for the sake of it but for someone that goes to SMU, knows the Football team, knows the coaches, and knows a lot about football, I feel that it is okay for me to post whenever I want to express my opinions.

If anyone has a problem with me or my posts, just PM me...

Ok, so let me get this straight...You're saying that PB should go NOW. But wait there are still 5 games to go, so no PB should go unless he gets this team to a bowl. This is entertaining to follow.

At the game yesterday, Hoofbeat and I were laughing about how certain posters will blow up the board after a loss and sing sweetly after a win. This is a friggin work in progress. Marathon, not a sprint. Whateve cliche you want to use. At 4-4, things are a helluva lot better than most seasons and the jury is out on whether it will in the end be a failure or a success. There were points last year that things looked like a disaster and then we finished strong. There will be plenty of time to assess things at the end. Beforehand we all just look silly with this fire the coach, well maybe not, fire the coach, oh he's really gonna be allright stuff that changes every week. At the end of the season is when that assesment will be made. It's pointless until then.

Wow. In this thread, you're saying PB should go. Yet, a few threads back, you say the following...

"Lets wait until after the season to start talking about possible replacements for PB. If PB cannot take this team bowling then he should be gone." [Part of the Capt. E.J. Smith "Serious Discussion" thread].

So, which is it?

Im glad you tink its entertaining. But I think that if PB cannot get this team to a bowl his time at SMU should be short lived at the end of this year.

BOWL OR BUST....that is how I feel on the PB situation. It is how ive ALWAYS felt about the coaching situation.

WHY WOULD I WANT PB TO BE FIRED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR???

I want PB gone if we dont make a bowl. This team is a bowl team in my opinion.

PB needs to go because he cant seem to get this team going for more than 2 or 3 games.

A fair winning streak early but against not so great teams. A loss to UNT that no one was expecting. And now a loss to ECU after a great win at Marshall. No way we make a bowl game.

PB needs to go!

You comments are not warranted from this game. The game to complain about is NTSU.

That is his albatross.

In order to escape that, he needs to finish 3-1 with 3 home games to go.

6-6 is but 1/2 game better than last year, and they substituted 2 Big12 teams with 2 SunBelt teams - this it is not better in reality.

Actually we have FOUR very winnable games. And when was the last time so many people were excited about SMU football? We have shown real promise this year and we've also shown that many of our great players (Willis, Sanders, Lowery, Givens, etc.) still have plenty of room to grow and improve. The coming years should be even more promising as they mature as football players. Keep PB, he's finally getting this program moving in the right direction. I'm not for instant gratification only to be let down the next year (i.e. UCF). I want sustained success in the years to come and that takes a lot of behind the scenes progress. Simply inserting a new head coach will not bring better players here, it will not instantly make SMU a top 25 football team. PB needs to learn just as much as the guys what works, what doesn't work, and so on. Quit reverting to the simple "fire PB and all our problems will be solved" excuse.

4 winnable games. But, I think realistically, we will be the underdog in 2 of them (Hou, Tulsa), and maybe favored against Rice.

Rice is on fire. They are not the same team. UAB and HOU are our best bets. Let's play UAB, get a win, and see what happens against HOU.

Definitely agree with that. Obviously we don't stand a chance if we come out with the defensive showing (or lack thereof) that we had yesterday. But no way will we be playing in such a hostile atmosphere again this season and that will give us (hopefully) a little push that we may need to stay in some of these games. Tulsa may be a little battered when they come into Dallas anyway. They have a hard end to their schedule.

We match up with Tulsa a lot better than Houston.

Tulsa is a running team vs our #1 rush defense.
Our passing game vs #1 pass defense.

Houston is a passing team vs our #40303 pass defense.
Their defense sucks.

Plus, we bring it to Tulsa in our house...we will again.
I would put $ down on beating Tulsa before Houston. Kolb will be salivating the next few weeks after we made Pinkney look like an AA.

i agree tulsa is good but they run more of a pro style offense... but we should not over look their rb's... they have a big punishing running back with some speed, and another running back who isnt too bad either... they run lots of screens and run them well... paul smith is decent but he's no justin willis

and we can beat houston if we can get pressure on the qb a little bit sooner to help the dbs... and hope for some turnovers... we will need to have a good defense in place to confuse kolb

Not sure that it's time for PB to go, "MF01", but I agree Kolb has circled Nov 11th on his stats calendar.

However, after reading the cusa stats report, I do not see how you can say we match up with Tulsa--- they rank in the Top 1,2,3,4 of virtually all the important categories.

We can only hope that Tulsa will con't their run this season & Kragthorpe will move onto another program.

I can't believe he was only getting 286 thousand at an ACC school, but I just skimmed through it.
