Which brings up the interesting question, why did we suspend those players when we knew they were not doing anything really bad? It well may have impacted our offense, including getting the calls in, and the kicking game. Another reliable receiver may have been important.
My guess is that since we survived the loss of players in the Marshall game and since the staff did not want to look biased in any way, they just threw those two playes under the bus, to use a term from Miami.
Go Ponies!! Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad

I agree a better call would have been to Kennedy.

ES, I agree on the pass to Kennedy-- no more handoffs from the spread on 4th down. Every ECU player was keying on this same ridiculous play we ran.
As for the decision not to kick FG, Bennett keeps charts & stats.
Now, I can't speak to the wind or the holder or if the moon got in his eyes, but our FG % since conference is now 3-6 with a longest FG of only 34 yds.
We may have to look at the new UT kicker sub "Model"

Speaking of kickers, all of the "scouts" on Ponyfans kept talking about Cunningham booming these kickoffs out of the end zone with such power and so high they could bring rain. It has been a long time, and then only with wind, that he has made it into the end zone. The opposition regularly kicks deeper than we do on kickoffs. I have a feeling that in practice he may have been kicking from the 40 or 45 yard line. We got burned bad on one return that came after an offsides on the KO for I believe the 3rd time this year.

Regarding suspending those players, Bennett had to do that so that the message was sent to all the players that even BS arrests are not tolerated. One reason that other programs (can we say UT, TCU, Miami or Florida International) have gone the way they've gone is because coaches have looked the other way or rationalized the situation or excused bad decisions. Hassan's parents were at the game and cheering on the Mustangs on Saturday. They both gave PB, a big hug when the team bus arrived. So, I think they understand the situation were supportive of the decision. I think Bennett's play calling is at times not the best, but this type of decision is what coaches ought to do.

Naaaaah, Bennett can't count as evidenced by prior mistakes in counting during go for 2 situations in previous years.

I am not meaning to complain, just wondering why the kicks were so long in the spring and short now.

I hear ya-- got your point.
Kicking TODAY is not where "Big Mac" had it last season.

Speaking of kicking, did anyone catch the Colts/Redskins game where they sent the punter out to kick after the excessive celebration penalty and when the ref told him he had to kick from a tee, the punter went ballistic and took off his helmet earning another penalty. And these guys are pros????

Why were they trying to make him kick from a tee?
