It would be a great idea for a rivarly not played this year but if they had a choice of SMU and one more CUSA school, they would take that opportunity to leave us out of the post season and no bowl.
The people in FW and at TCU would actually do that to us.

I mentioned this before. The TCU boosters run the FW Bowl. I grew up surrounded by these people. If it looks like SMU might get the FW Bowl, TCU folks will try and sabotage it. Their argument will be that the SMU people will come, go to the game and leave and won't spend any money in Fort Worth. Really, it isn't a bad argument save for the fact that they were content to let TCU play there a couple of years ago.
Now as for the idea that TCU and SMU would play eachother, I will bet any amount of money that never happens. The TV network would be actively trying to move the teams away from eachother. The idea that ESPN would allow two teams from the same media market would play a bowl game in that same media market is laughable.

YES, THATS EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN by the FW committee leaving us in the dust to wait until next year. Lets win 7 and talk about this after Halloween.

UPDATED AS OF TODAY...
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/stor ... d=tab4pos1
Both Meisel and Schlabach now have SMU going bowling and playing in the New Orleans bowl in a rematch with Ark St.
They have us, UTEP, HOUSTON, USM, and TULSA as being bowl eligible.
That means they have us winning on Halloween. They only feel that one at-large bid will be handed out as they have every conference filling their bids.

I agree. I doubt ECU will win 3 of its last 5 games when 4 are on the road =P.

The one thing that I just noticed on this weeks update of projections is that Maisel does not see TCU making a bowl game this year.

MWC has 3 bowl tie ins.
BYU (5-2), Colorado State (4-3), New Mexico (4-4), TCU (4-2), Utah (4-4), Wyoming (4-4).
Those are the teams fighting for 3 bowls.

FIRST, we must beat UAB & Rice.
Then, New Orleans Bowl would be cool, no doubt.
BUT if T.C.Who missed bowling.............
It would be cool to play @ Amon Carter on Dec 23 while the Frogs sit in the stands watching!!!

im confused with the logic... last week (4-3) only one of them have us picked to be in a bowl... this week (4-4) both have us in a bowl?!! and have to very tough games (UH & TU)... either way i would love to go party in the french quarter before an SMU bowl game, i was there for the sugar bowl when florida state dominated va tech and it was amazing

New Orleans bowl would be great. It is a great place to go party for a week, it kicks off the bowl season, and everyone will be home for Christmas.

I think with the New Mexico Bowl we have 4, plus TCU has a deal with the new Texas Bowl if the Big 12 or BE don't make their slots. I think TCU will either go to the Fort Worth Bowl or the Texas Bowl this year.
