If that is marketing then this program is circling the drain.

Fish 'n Chips wrote:Did anyone else think it was kind of funny that in the article in today's Dallas Morning News "Upcoming game big for SMU" that there is a quote from Bennett himself as saying that SMU pays its players? "This is where the money is made," Bennett said. I would think that the recruiting has to start picking up sooner or later if he's going around telling folks that SMU is where the money is made.
Actually, if he were talkinga bout paying the players he would have said "This is where the money is spent"

Aren't they forcing everyone sit on the East side?

KB Homes pays homeless people here in Austin to advertise for them. Maybe we round up a bunch give them free hot dogs and fill the stadium.

I have to say with all due respect for the cameras, I hate the idea of moving all of the loyal fans away from the team. If I were a player I would feel very deserted. I hope if this is actually done that someone lets them know that their fans did not protest the team and stay away. I wish people would spend more time trying to get more into the stands rather than moving those that do attend. And I am well aware my statements are made with the fact outstanding that I am not going to be able to make it. There is still time to do something to promote the game and get people, even if it is free into the game. It is just embarasing that we should have to consider abandoning out team.

you sir....are old. I would hope by the time I reach your age I have enough money to make my voice heard in both SMU athletics and politics.

Easy, there 1-L. He's not that old. Are you still planning to attend class rather than the pregame festivities and/or game? That's pretty sad.
If I were going to the game, which I am not, I would sit on the fifty yard line on the West side of Ford, as always.

Nope, going to the blvd. getting drunk, going to my 4 o'clock class, and then to the game. My prof for the 6 o'clock class canceled so he could take his kids trick or treating. (I did actually make it through my 1-L year)

Good look on TV
Some kid watches and come to SMU

I still like the idea of fans dressing up as empty seats.
Ooooh! Zing!
