Did you know the Colts owner went to SMU?

Seriously, how many schools have more than one alumni that own NFL teams?

I believe Bob McNair (owner of the Texans) had a son at SMU a few years ago. Possible future NFL team owner right there.

That's great. I love it.

Bring more Indiana folks to SMU!!! (Not that I care about Idiana folks specifically, but it's cool that he is focusing on potential students from his out of state backyard.)

I believe the son was a walkon LB under Ron Meyer-note that Ron Meyer was hired as head Coach of the Indianapolis Colts after his Patriots stint.

Awesome- I just happen to be in the market for supporting a new NFL team. I'll jump on colts bandwagon while the "genius" Parcells guides the Titanic.

Sure, our football players don't always make the NFL, but which would you rather be? An NFL player or an NFL OWNER? The decision is yours. Come to SMU.

Why don't we make a bigger deal about this?

Excellent point- I'm now a Colts fan, too.

As for the Cowboys, it must be hard to get motivated by a coach who is built like a senior citizen woman... No offense to senior citizen women out there!

That's great to see. Go Colts!!

Looks like our fellow alum has done more SMU after he graduated than Craig James would hope to do. Oh, but he's too busy ripping the school on national television every ball.

Nobody in the Hunt family ever stole a team from a city as loyal and passionate as Baltimore.

No former Mustangs on the Indy Colts roster. :(

Two Texas Tech Red Raiders, one TCU Frog and one Baylor Bear, though.

Barely. I do, but not much about them. I did, however, have cousins who were Baltimore Colts season ticket holders, and when the pictures appeared in the paper the day Irsay skipped town with his team under the cover of night fall -- it was discovered only when the media showed up for a press conference at a completely empty facility -- they stopped watching NFL football. Seriously .... not a single game since, and that was what, 1986 or something? They will not even utter the name "Irsay," or the words "Colts" or "Indianapolis." Ironically, one of those cousins went to grad school in Cleveland and was there when Art Modell stole the Browns from that city, and he said the heartache in Cleveland didn't compare to the "emotional assault" he claims Irsay inflicted on the city on Baltimore. I don't hold his son responsible, of course, and like I said, any scholarship to SMU is a good thing.

Reminds me of the character 'Eddie' played by Steve Guettenberg in the movie Diner. He administers a Baltimore Colts 'test' to his fiance the night before their wedding to see if she's worthy of being his wife. Great movie by Barry Levinson, who grew up in Baltimore and sets almost all of his movies in that city. Isn't that right, ThadFilms? ;)
