After July EVERY season, we should be able to compete with the Rangers.

They are the "Death Penalty" baseball team of all times

Yeah, that's the Bob Short curse, or the Joe Cronin curse depending on who you talk to. Short moved them out of Washington DC and some voodoo guy was a Senators fan. He cursed the team and as you can see, they've never been to the World Series, yet, while coming close. The Cronin curse dates back to the 30's when he was fired as manager and the Senators never won another pennant again. Remember the old addage used to be "First in War, First in Peace and Last in the American League." There is a long history of strange things occurring just when they were about to be competitive including Griffith moving the team to Minnesota in 1960 and leaving Washington with an expansion team that rivaled the New York Mets of the same year. Don Cheney set the strikeout record for a single game in 1962 and blew his arm out doing it. They actually had a winning season in 1970 and Short traded away the left side of his infield and his best young starting pitcher to the Detroit Tigers for Denny McLain (some say to buy the Tigers vote for the Senator's move to Texas). Maybe Crazy Ray can try and remove the curse.
