SMU/UAB: National exposureI'm looking forward to the game on Tuesday night, even though I'll be watching it here on TV after I take my kids trick-or-treating. I hope to have a nice little crowd of Tiger fans watching the only game on that night.
I think this Halloween game was probably the most favorable weekday night they could've put us on National TV. Rather than doing their usual Tuesday night routine and watching some random show on network TV, many people around the country will be at parties or barbecues looking for a game like this to watch. I don't expect it'll create instant SMU fans, but at least it'll let a larger than usual pool of college football fans know that we are still playing football. Here's to hoping we light it up and get a few second glances. Geaux MUSTANGS! Geaux Tigers!
I wish it was on a little later! I've got to rush home early from work here in Seattle and keep the game on while I hand out treats to the little ones!
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.
I too wish the gme was at like 7:30 or so . . . that way the Blvd could really get going before we have to head into the game!
Sports, and all that implies.
Yeah I hate that start time.... I mean what does ESPN2 have on that's so pressing that the game can't start later?

I like it very much . . . the less people watching that other school play the better!!!!!
Sports, and all that implies.
uh... I just checked... yeah... Our game is followed by Quite Frankly with Steven A. Smith and then an NFL Films presentation of the NFL's Greatest Games.... yeah, real time constraints on those shows, boys. ![]() Eric Dickerson in Pony Excess "I've love winning man, it's like better than losing." - Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh
I cannot stand Steven A Smith . . . what a hack!
BRStang it starts at 6:30pm! that is 6:30pm La time!!!! (just in case you did not know!) Sports, and all that implies.
Guys, I think the 6:30 start time is a gift for those of us with trick or treating age kids. Why? Consider the following:
Anticipated complaint: "You mean you're just going to sit there and watch the damn Ponies play all night?" Suggested response: "Absolutely not. At 8pm, I intend to take <child's name here> around the neighborhood trick or treating. I don't want him getting too tired or worn out at the notion, so we'll keep it at around twenty or thirty minutes, tops." There's your halftime entertainment, folks, and the wife is off your back. After all, isn't she already used to you checking pf. com from 6:30 to 7:30 or so? Not much of a stretch.
RGV,
All I can say is 'good for you'. At this point, I'll be lucky to show up, and I've been planning this since May, if not earlier. My wife is pulling the "the boys really want their daddy to be with them on Halloween...we are going to the hay ride and trick or treat; wouldn't it be great to have everybody together?" I'm feeling the "missing those hallmark moments" guilt, and I try to be with my kids for EVERYTHING! I'm pissed. ![]() "Moderation in all things, and especially in Absoluts [vodka]." I just spoke to my brother-in-law and he and my nephew sat on a flight next to Craig James on Sunday on the way back from NY and my nephew was throwing his peanuts at a sleeping James. My brother in law looked over and realized who it was and apologized and said his son is a TCU fan and to forgive him.
