You know what's most amazing about these last three games, especially last night? That Doh's getting this kind of play from these players. I really didn't expect -- and perhaps I still shouldn't expect -- that we'd be even a mediocre team this year.

Ponyboy, I'll fully agree with you. I just didn't see how he could get much out of these guys but so far it sounds like he's got them believing in themselves and Doherty. If you told me Killen would be a leading scorer I would have laughed in your face. I am glad I was very wrong.

What you've never explained is why you yourself did not attend school in the greatest conference ever given your lineage.

I actually applied to Minnesota, but when I talked to my dad about it -- class of 1951 -- he wasn't as jazzed about it as I was. The U is really more of a commuter school these days. He wanted me to really appeciate the college experience. And really, The U was where I only applied in the Big 10. I thought about Michigan but didn't pursue it.

Since I was born in Texas, I looked at a lot of Texas schools. When I toured SMU in the summer of 1985, I was hooked. Private school. Great academics. Great city.

OK. Here it is for the zillionth time. I graduated from SMU in 1991. My father graduated from Minnesota. I have good friends and family members who went to Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. I lived part of my life in Minnesota.

Therefore, I am partial to that conference.

I love the Big 10. I love SMU more.

I graduated from SMU, my parents graduated from Tech, Tamu and Trinity, my sister graduated from Kansas and is currently at Northwestern, I have family members that went to Baylor, UTSA, a bunch of bible colleges in Kansas, and Clemson, and I have had good friends at TCU, UT, Rice and Houston. Does this mean I should change my name to Big12SECDIV1AADIVIIIBig10ponyfan?
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

But what you want to do violates what I perceive to be the moral code of all college attendees, therefore I must attempt to impose my morality upon you!

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? The guy is more loyal an SMU fan than a lot of folks. His screen name is no more or less relevant than many on here.
It's going to turn. Just watch. This team is capable of winning 18-20 games. Look at the non-conference schedule. We can go 10-4 to 12-2 with it. You split the CUSA season at 8-8. And we can. There's your win total.
I agree. Also, I think SMU's RPI ranking is going to be leaps and bounds ahead of where it has been since 1993. And also a top-notch basketball program will do wonders for stomaching the football season.

Where did Miami come into the equation and when did it become a commuter school???

Seriously though, I like the name and avatar but at least pay homage to what school is "The U"

Did you ever consider the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles? I would think Hayden Fox had them going great about your time for college?

I would have. But I was too broken up to learn that Hayden was dating my dream woman, Christine. Every time she sang "Johnny Angel", I'd just melt.
