Technical Question on Standings

Postby Mustang98 » Mon Nov 20, 2006 12:29 am

Assuming we beat Rice next Saturday (which will be a hard fought game), will we end up technically finishing second place in the West Division standings? If we beat Rice, then our only losses in the West are to champion Houston and UTEP (who might finish worse).

Yes, we would be in second place with a 5-3 record in CUSA

Really tie breaker after first place are irrelevant. Bowls get to choose in order of preference not standings or tie breakers. It is really only used for determining who make the championship game.

In basketball it would affect tournament seeding.
