I don't want to turn this into a huge argument but I know Mustain was benched.
What is Mustains record compared to Willis, no need to look that up because Mustain has not lost a game. As for Riley, he is one win away of doing the most amazing accomplishment in Wake history, a chance at a out right ACC championship. That is a WF team that lost its starting qb and rb in the 1st 2 games.
Mitch and Riley alone are off to better starts than Willis, don't look at stats, look at performance and outcomes.
As for Tebow, he's done a pretty good job so for as a second option in Urban Meyers O. Ball States Nate Davis has been compared to the next Ben Rothlesburger and has for the most part led the Nation in pass effiency. And ever since Joel Freeman took over as qb, he as turned around that Kstate team and has made them bowl eligible after a dismal season last year.
Not saying Willis isn't deserving of a 2nd team Frosh selection but he is not there yet in my mind. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he was picked but I doubt it will happen because more people know the names of Skinner, Tebow, Mustain, and heck they know that HP kid (no need to say his name, he's had a pretty good learning experience so far).

Argue all you want about Willis AA status, but it is a double-bladed sword.
On one hand, he is playing in C-USA against lesser defenses.
On the other, he is not playing behind the best offensive line in America and throwing to Limas Sweed...and they still get to play defenses that include Rice, Baylor, North Texas and Sam Houston State to fluff stats.
If Willis had played against UTEP, I think he would have more passing yards, more rushing yards and more touchdowns than McCoy...and Colt has the better offensive coaches, players and scheme...and he gets to take those future NFL accessories against some paddy-cake defenses as well.

Mustain will soon be transferring to Arkansas St. or some other school since he is now Casey [deleted]'s backup for 2 more years. Arkansas has won in spite of Mustain and that is why he is riding the pine. Heck, even the guys HS coach has decided that [deleted] is the better QB.
Riley Skinner has had a good run. He has also ran into the 80th toughest schedule in America. He has passed for less than 1500yds and led the team to the 107th best passing attack in the nation.
Davis is 21st in passing efficiency and is 20 pts behind JW. I also heard that Ben Rothliesberger may be the 2nd coming of Mark Rypien.
Stafford is 83 in passing efficiency and has thrown 5 TD's to 12 picks.
Joel Freeman might be a great QB. God knows my dad the K-State fan keeps telling me that but he has been average at best but better than what they had before. With a completion percentage close to 50% and a 2 picks to every 1 TD ratio, you will be hard pressed to make the case for this QB.
Tebow is statistically irrelevent and we can find out next year just how good he really is.
Here is the list of this years top Freshman QB's:
- Passing Efficiency
4 Colt McCoy, Texas 7 Justin Willis, SMU 21 Nate Davis, Ball St. 30 Riley Skinner, WF 34 Matt Grothe, S. Fla. 35 Dan LeFevour, C. Like I said previously, stats don't tell the whole story of how great a freshman qb is. From looking at those stats, the top 4 frosh qbs are McCoy, Skinner, Willis, and Davis...Being the best has nothing to do with stats, its a combination of leadership, W's, and stats...

Without Willis we would be somewhere around 4-7 right now. This kid has what I like to call "the magic." He makes something out of nothing. With him we are never out of any game. By the time he is a senior he will have obliterated all the SMU passsing records and will have led his team to 4 straight bowls.

you all are playing word games-Willis is a sophmore who redshirted as a freshman-many of the others cited are actual freshman who have been on campus for 3 months and are playing at a very high level of competition. It would be extremely stupid to count out many of these kids once they learn the college game. But if it makes you feel better...

hey chuck o most of those "true freshmen" have been on campus since january.... not just "the last 3 months," due to the growing trend of enrolling early so you can be involved in spring practice a la Colt McCoy... but ofcourse you know that since like prosser "the king of torts," you are the "king of recruiting...."

Hey I think Justin is great, but in the game last Saturday, he missed a ton of open recievers.

how many points did u want him to put up in the 2nd half? gees.... the tulsa world was going nuts about him, all the teams we have played have praised him, yet our own fans still dont think he's good enough... i guess we should have kept Cphil at QB, since most of you thought he was our future... haha that was silly

Eat my word? About what?
Willis Rivals 3 star recruit. Check
Willis received offers from several quality programs. Check
Strongly supported Willis as the Starter after the Spring Game. Check
Strongly supported Willis after talk that he should be replaced by Corey Slater? Check
Now if you are asking if I have an dislike for recruiting a whole stable full of slow, small QBs I'm guilty. Willis isn't slow. I definitely rode SMU for recruiting of Eric Johnson and Corey Slater but I don't believe I made similar comments about Willis who was a pretty high profile recruit. I really don't think I've made a single negative comment about Willis all year other than just play situation comments. He's just as much an example of how our performance improves by recruiting better more highly recruited players. Can't blame Rivals on this one.

Listen, I like the guy and he's a big reason why we are where we are. I'm excited that there is so much room for improvement, but but come on you can't tell me you didn't see those guys running wide open last Saturday.
