Mr. Poynter, I also want to thank you for your hard work and making this possible. The alumni band and Diamond M Club officers are currently making phone calls and sending emails to alert everyone to the "change of plans."
Thank you! Just send 'da money.
Careful, there.
I also want to say thanks to all that donated. Now we need for everybody to show up in Houston, to cheer on the Mustangs.
I'm willing to bet there will be a good mixture of alumni and current bandsmen. We might even be able to get some people who don't normally play with us to go due to the significance of the game.
Of course some SMU "fans" will be more concerned with spending time with family than actually showing support for the Mustangs. In fact, some might even suggest that since having a 2nd Thanksgiving on Saturday during the game back in Dallas is more important that people who do that should have their press pass revoked. As for the offer to the band and cheerleaders who do make it I will gladly provide you a beer or soft drink and some of Houston's finest BBQ. Any suggestions for the best BBQ in Houston that is near Rice? Class of '91
Goode Company. It's on Kirby just a few miles from Rice Stadium. On Sunday morning, you might want to stop by Goode Company's Taqueria which is across the street from their bbq place which serves one of the best Tex Mex breakfasts you'll find anywhere.
I rember those guys from when I used to hit Houston twice a month. What we need to really do is have an SMU BBQ party before the game. That way I don't have to haul food or do any cooking. Just pick up some cold beer and drinks. We just need 50 Ponyfans and we can have the whole party catered for $10 a person. Maybe the Mustang Club can make this happen? You can count me in for 6 if we get this going.

Thank you, Mr. Poynter and all who've made this possible. After the Tulsa game, a number of band alumni discussed getting a bus and going to Houston for the Rice game, and now it's happening, in an even larger way. Hubba! to each and every one of you.

Thank you. As much as the football team loves having fans at away games, we bandsmen enjoy being at away games to support them. It means a lot to us that you guys ponied up the cash-o-la to send us (and the cheerleaders et al), but it will mean even more to the players who will BTHOORICE. Thanks. Sir, shooting-star, sir.
