So every saturday, Cnnsi.com football guy Stewart Mandel has a saturday blog where he gives us his 2 cents on the days action...in Part II of his observations he mentioned SMU....here is what it says:

"One developing story to keep an eye on: SMU (5-4) is beating Conference USA leader Houston 24-14 at halftime. If the Mustangs pull it out, they’ll be bowl eligible for the first time since 1997. Thanks to the presence of four bowl games with C-USA ties (including one in Fort Worth), SMU would be assured of its first bowl trip since its pre-death penalty days (the 1984 Aloha Bowl)."

So a win and we were going bowling. Way to go SMU, for giving us one of the worst second halfs I've ever seen.

I can't believe Mandel of all people mentioned how important this game is....Its the 'other' big game in Texas this Saturday (besides UT-A&M).

Also, in his bowl projections, he has playing Mid Tenn. St. in the New Orleans Bowl (a team we can destroy) and Rice playing TCU in the Armed Forces Bowl. A win this weekend should change that!
