FYI - means play the Corners up and give them a bump. That gives the D-line time to get some pressure and throws the pass timing off.

It also means we would be very susceptible to deep routes and the big play. If you miss in the jam, you are toast.

Don't miss the jam then.

See the second half of Tulsa Game and look at how many times we came up.

No Cushion.

I'll agree, maybe not all the time but WAY more than the previous games this year.

I think the D-backfield is coming together.

As do I, I am also a fan of apricots.

I agree, mix it up and diguise our coverages. If a Clements really is hurt, lets hope we can confuse the backup. I am sure they will try to matchup Dillard on Mccann and pick on him as Tulsa did in the 1st half. We gave Mccann safety help in the 2nd half which confused Tulsa and we saw the results. I hope Bennett can pull one of those famous gameplans out for this one.

There is no doubt that we are playing against the least talented QB in the western side of C-USA this weekend.

It doesn't matter which one is in the game. We need to get up close and pressure them and force the deep ball...Oh, and all 3 of their starting WRs are under 5'11".

The East Carolina game should have taught us that lesson. Man, they ran that little out route all day. Never once was the corner on the line of scrimmage. If they'd done that one time, they'd have gotten a pick and maybe won that game.

I understand the feeling about the coverage, but I know the boys are doing what they are coached to do . . .otherwise they would not be out there. obviously the coaches feel the "soft" coverage helps their game plan in previous games, and I hope that whatever they did against Tulsa's passing attack in that 2nd half continues @ Rice!

I agree. On many plays the DB's came up and jammed. SOmetimes they did not.

Maybe I should be looking for a mix.

Jam w/ zone blitz.

Send the front-side LB on blitz and back Muse into coverage.
Send Rogers on back side and back Bonilla or Hawkins into coverage that side.

Press the WRs hard, but cheat the safeties to the big receivers.

And pray that Haywood is back plugging the middle and that Bonds hawks that ball.

I think our corners are mature enough now.
