Solo Travel to Rice

Postby 03Mustang » Wed Nov 22, 2006 11:02 pm

I'll be driving the Texas triangle this weekend (Dallas-San Antonio-Houston-Dallas) to see family on Thursday, SMU on Saturday, and then back home after the game. Problem is, my family consists of Texas and A&M fans who have no interest whatsoever in accompanying me to Houston.

Anyone else making the trip by themselves?

I almost had to, but was able to talk my dad into going with me. He came to all the home games this year with me but he is pushing 80 and not looking forward to the road trip, but hes a trooper and a true SMU fan!

My 75 year old Dad is going with me too. He was at the last SMU bowl game, I told him he had to be there as we fight our way back again.

Man, now I feel really lame...my dad's no where near that age and he still can't come!

I really want to come but going alone just sucks. Maybe I just sit this one out and go to the bowl game instead.

Please come! There will be plenty of people to hang out with once you get there. And I have a feeling there will be a big convoy driving back to Dallas afterwards.

03: NO! NO! NO! Get your butt to Houston. NO EXCUSES!

If you're worried about driving alone on Interstate 45, don't. There will be PLENTY of folks headed that way, too. Put in a CD of the Mustang Band to get yourself hyped up for the game!

DO NOT SIT THIS ONE OUT! THE MUSTANGS NEED YOU!

Think of it this way - you get to break up that drive from Houston - Dallas by stopping at Woody's in Centerville, and picking up some elk sausage and other various meats!

While at Woody's, pick up several jars of mahaw and/or jalepeno jelly!
