Houston television and print media are hyping this game and the Owls big time - like they are proud of Rice or something.
Got down here early and it's kind of strange to see - a private school in a big pro town, with lots of UT alumni, getting major attention ....
Today's Houston Chronicle sports has GIGANTIC photo of Rice standout receiver Dillard on its front page. Major story too.
(DMN front page sports today? UT-A&M)
Told by family member the Owls have been all over TV this week.
Hopefully, Dallas will do the same in next couple of days.

There are a couple of things working in Rice's favor:
Cougar High is off until the Dec. 2 CUSA championship game and the Texans are nothing special. I'm a little surprised with UT-A&M but good for the Owls.
As for us, with the Cowboys beating Indianapolis and Thanksgiving game, this media is doing cartwheels for them.
But I think on the sports page of Thursday's DMN, there will be that story on Willis and Sanders. It's posted on another thread on this board. When the Horns and Aggies are finished, I think we'll get a pretty good preview.
Don't be surprised if the DMN sends a columnist to Houston with Kate.

Helps that UT got beat a couple weeks ago and are no longer on the precipice of going back to NC game.

Unless TAMU beats them. That's just lose-lose.

Normally yes, but in this case a UT loss will probably knock them from the Fiesta Bowl to the Cotton Bowl, so I think we can make an exception here.

Oh well, the Whorns lost to the Aggies. Looks like they have to hope for a Cowboy win to back into the B12 south championship. Too bad they had the handcuffs on Justin when we played the Raiders, this was the year guys.

This indeed was the year for a great record, but we can still go to a decent bowl with a win today.
