Sparkman/Hillcrest won't take me. Said I need a winning season to be eligible.

a vast majority of the guys on the team feel that PB is there coach... and do not want to see somebody else come in... if he's gone i see a lot of guys leaving not just JW! and it wasnt in the heat of the moment comment, people have been talking about this all year long, these guys want to play for him, too bad our fans dont feel the same way

This will have zero impact. You make this call based on what is best for the school and program.
Orsini will have the job of either selling the decision to fire to the players, or sell the decision to not fire to himself and the money donors. Not a hard decision.
One potential bright spot - new brroms sweep clean - look what the Doherty big fest got us - we could probably get rid of some J.C. transfer issues and pull in some new money with the right name -
Hmmmmmmmmm, Orsini like the slightly damaged goods thing - introducing - coach Neuheisel?

Isn't it common for lots of players to have a bond with their coach? You see this frequently at all levels of sports and is by no means uncommon. I don't see "a lot of guys" leaving if PB is fired. Their life does not only revolve around who their head coach is but also their University, friends, teamates, education, Dallas roots, etc etc.

If Bennett is fired, people will leave, that goes without saying. But even if Bennett stays there will still be some attrition in the offseason as well- thats natural for college football.
Bennett should stay or go based on whether they feel he is the right man for the job, not based on bullying by current players, in my opinion.

Memo to Willis: Sam Houston State already has Rhett Bomar on its roster. Stay at SMU.

I think JW is a good qb but that is down right selfish of him to say that. He has turned his back on his teammates and basically said, "screw you guys, I'm going else where because someone was fired."
I'm sure that was said in the heat of the moment after realizing that the bowl hopes were shot. Unacceptabl by Willis and it just goes to show that he is a freshman. Redshir or not, he is still young.
I don't want Willis to eat his words but where would he transfer??? he would only have 2 years of eligiblity and I'm sure his dad wouldn't agree with him losing a year over something stupid.
You have got to be kidding me? You have had the [deleted] kicked out of you for years and you are worrying about a slap in the face? Take a shower and go to bed man. J-Will has and will continue to put this team on the map once again, ESPN, nationally ranked number, etc.. The kid wants to win!! Get some players in here so we can win. Does anybody have some 300 lb cousins or nephews somewhere we can bring. Come on people, it is not rocket science!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Willis doesn't control or run the team and I'm sure Orsini will do what he pleases and not listen to Willis. No matter what, Willis will be back because I don't think hell do that. He loves SMU and knows he can bring this team back to the "promise land."
JW I hope you just said that out of frustration and I know you bought into PBs system but Orsini knows best when it comes to running a program.

I said some of that!! Willis does not control the team? What QB does? C'mon people, the QB does run the team and who would want other than J-Will running the team? We got the best in Texas we could get. McCoy went to Texas, Daniel went to Mizzo, who else was there. These guys set marks in history and will continue to. Support, support, support in every way we can. Stop crying and support what we have. It will not get any better!! Orsini cannot play and never did!! HA HA HA!!

Its one thing to support, support, support PB to stay and then to say, I'm leaving if he's leaving.
All Willis had to say was I want PB to coach me because I believe in him. Not pull out a line from MeShawn Johnsons book fo Throw Me the Damn Ball....there's one thing to be selfish and a different thing to show support.

Support to the football program, not the instutution. The institution is operating on a different scale. We need wins, the institution is stable with with the Business School and so on!! We need wins. J-Will wants to win. Do we have the support of any of you or not?
