STAY  we were 1 play away from a bowl game for the first time in a long time and it hurts, but this program is making improvement. So what i intend to do is ask myself what i can do as a fan to help the program make that 1 more play next year so we can go bowling.

Currently about 70% say stay. Most non-SMU people I talk to with mild to moderate interest in the program say he should stay because they like Bennett and what he's done to at leat make the team respectable and competitive.

I know for many of the regular Ponyfans that's not enough, but I think many outsiders think it's crazy to go firing yet another coach here at SMU when he has the team on the right track.

Casual fans and outsiders, have low expectations for the program.

Maybe you just have unrealistic expectations for the rate at which progress is being made. We are finally getting to where we are respectable as an organization. We are finally getting competitive with other schools. We are finally regaining interest in the program.

We would have won maybe two more games had we been able to short situations like that. UH and Rice.

Why does everybody want Burns gone so bad. Fullback package or not, it seems to me he did a respectable job coaching a record-setting QB. We ended up ranked 41 in scoring offense this year. Maybe Gush ought to be held accountable for his 70-something ranked scoring defense? 27 ppg ought to win you more than 6 games.
