Hmm... let's see. I did go to MOST of the games. What I saw was a team that never played a complete game. I saw a team that fell on their faces dozens of times. I saw a team that came up short to end an utterly disappointing season with a easy schedule. But I also saw a lot of young promise from this team. I saw a lot of fight to where SMU teams of the past would have quit. I saw SMU climb out of holes where in years past they would have just started shoveling dirt in on top of themselves. I saw spectacular plays. I rode this rollercoaster of a season from day one. If you don't think SMU has the potential to beat most of the Division 1-A teams in Texas, I don't know what to tell you. The pieces are there. They are starting to fall into place. I have seen next year's schedule; it is not, by any stretch of the imagination, insurmountable. I expect a bowl game next year. I expect to at the very least be contending for the C-USA championship well into November.

You said the same crap after last year's 5-6 campaign, and the year before that and the year before that. You probably said what promise we showed after almost going 1-11 in 2003, but not quite. Just give it a rest.

Seriously, what would help us achieve what we want here at SMU. I follow BUS, we need linemen...2 ol, 2dl and after that a healthy Willis and some luck. After it all starts in the line. Let's get some great JC transfers.

bottom line is that we failed to repeat as champions after beating every non-BCS team in Texas we played in 2005. In fact, we turned in a miserable performance by losing to each and every Division I-A non-BCS Texas school we faced in 2006. Houston wears the crown (TCU chose not to compete when they off-scheduled us this year). These are the teams we need to beat and everyone should know that by now.

Was that a lack of talent? Or as others proclaim a lack of coaching? If as blackjam asserts it was because players made youthful mistakes that would mean that we lacked upperclass talent to be in there with the game on the line. We have good players, but we need better players. We have a long way to go to get to that point.
With the recognition our younger players are receiving, we may be on the rise. I totally agree, loosing is loosing and winning is winning. Where do you place the blame? SMU has several questions to answer the next coming season. Players, coaches and support from fans. We have begun to to slowly get back into the media light as J-Will and Emmanuel Sanders receive freshman all-american honors. Has that happened in some time? I agree we must get better players. My question is how? We are getting the best that we can get! I personally believe that we need an attitude change. Do not get mad when I say this please, just think about it? We need football players who come to school to play football, not students who play football! There is a difference. We have players on the roster now who are just happy to be getting a free education. At SMU that is good, because the education is worth so much. Maybe we need to put a clause in the scholarship signing. Win less than eight games, you pay for half of your education.
