6-2, 237 5.22 (verified). Being recruited as DE by all 3 favorites. Favors Kansas(Jan 12) but plans to visit Baylor and SMU. A lot of schools previously mentioned don't appear to be in the picture any more. At one time had offers from Kansas, Baylor, Missouri, K-State, UTEP, Missouri and interest from othetr top schools like Miami and A&M etc.2nd Team All Greater Houston. SMU isn't even listed in his long list of schools until todays Rivals report. Report doesn't say if SMU has offered yet. 2nd Team All Greater Houston according to Houston Chronicle. Rated 5.4 two star.

he was Co- Offensive MVP of his District though as an Offensive lineman which is VERY unusual. Scout also has a relatively slow time for him too at 5.28. They say Houston offered as well. Seems like he could be more of an offensive lineman. Rivals shows him playing OT but maybe a Center. Wonder what the deal is with those times because he should be much better than that at under 240. Both Scout and Rivals seem pretty consistent. Also ran one of the slowest 3 shuttle times for Rivals of all DEs. Hopefully, I guess he just wasn't prepared for summer workouts. Unless an injury explains this I'd bet why a lot of teams backed off.

Earlier in the year Scout had him rated the No. 68 player in Texas

definitely looks like an offensive lineman to me, especially if he won mvp at a lineman, is that possible?

Or could it be that he's seen as a guy who could bulk up into a bona fide DT? That's a lot of muscle to add, but at that speed, it might be a possibility.

SMU did have one potential recruit at the East West All-American Game but a game location report yesterday quotes him as saying he is down to Kansas and Baylor for his commitment.

Michael Ray committed to UH. Lot of offers seemed to fall off the table for this kid. He was visiting Stephen F. Austin last weekend. I bet there are some academic issues or at least concern about his speed.

I hope that doesn't mean Florence is soon to follow. I like 6'4 wideouts that are recruited by Baylor, UH, Kansas, K State. Rivals shows us still being listed for him- anyone know if we are really in the ballgame? Another big WR to add to leaper Haynes in this class would be exciting.

I think we are done. Haynes is our tall receiver and I think we aren't interested in the LaMarque guys.
