We had not implemented our spread offense?
We have been running the same offense for going on 4 years.
Oh, and both your QBs were a joke last year...I can only hope one of them is starting.

2112, UNT and brown sacksAs 2112 says, if we lose to UNT this year, we will have to wear brown sacks over our heads the rest of the year at our games. tThe sad truth is that Todd Dodge might be capable up springing an upset even with our team pointing for that game. That tension adds to the trap possibilities of playing ASU in an away game since SMU does not have a good road record. Heck, even Rice looks forward to playing us when we go to Houston.

Stock advisor on the radio today (ASU grad) said we caught ASU off guard and unprepared last year. They expect losses to UT and Tenn., but expect to hold their own and hopefully beat us and Memphis. I had an Arkansas fan come to me after hearing this and shake his head as to how low SMU had fallen to have to take smack talk from ASU. I pray we are ready.
Off guard and unprepared? You should have to prepare to not throw interceptions and fumble the ball (total of 5 turnovers, 4 fumbles, 1 INT)? I thought those would be obvious things you shouldn't do. We won because we forced turnovers and obliterated their running game (41 yards). We won because we actually had confidence and opened the playbook further than to prevent embarrassment. Now if only we would do that for all of games, especially the ones against harder teams (TT, TCU, UH, TU, and USM).
we won because our backs were against the wall, and if we had lost that game it would have been a long year... like JT said awhile back, SMU can't over look anybody... my personal opinion is we are better, we've been getting better recruits (stallion feel free to rip me here) then in the past, but that does not translate to any games being a cake walk... not to mention this game is on the road, and home field means everything (see smu v. tech '02, tech v. smu '03, etc.) and they will be looking for payback... i think we can win but it's going to be a fight (good thing we have Muse

I didn't say it will be a cakewalk, nor did I say that SMU has earned the right to start looking past opponents. Quite the contrary, no team should ever look past another team. We have to earn every win no matter who is on the other side of the field. Home field advantage does make a huge difference, but I still expect SMU to win. Our backs may have been against the wall last year, but we performed very well. To say ASU was unprepared to face us is the sole reason we won, is a gross rationalization and insult to the players and the coaches. That was my point.
What is this, a center for ants?!? How can we expect people to learn...if they can't even fit inside the building!
GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!
