One is thinking about going MM1965 on SMU Atletics at the moment as well and renaming his son's football team the Horned Frogs!!! I need somebody to talk me off the ledge.
My big gripe is that the bone headed SMU employee who was running this fiasco never told me it was based on Mustang Club level or season tickets. I have a good friend that meets all the requirements and even eats our food and if I had known that I had to play some stupid game to get the spot I have earned over the last 3 years I would have played it. Now, if I want to tailgate I have to hang out by Cox and no mans land and lose something that I was willing to pay for and had been trying to get for 4 months.
Also, I could care less if the freakin' APPLES got a spot. All I care about is that someone took over the spot that I had since nobody has used it in forever except to park at.

I drank one of Mr. Bus's beers last year and if he's kind enough to offer again this year I'll probably accept.
But if all of the spots were already taken last year and only 4 changed hands for this year, then I really don't know whose spot my friend pitched her tent in last year right behind the sign. That does not make sense to me. Nor does Brian T's regular spot being taken up.

I don't blame you one bit for being p*ssed off. It's loyal fans like you (and others) who supported the Mustangs before and during the continuing 'dark age' who are getting the hardwood up the kiester from the SMU AD's office. Once again the almighty $ rules. Nowhere is this more true than on The Hilltop.

65 read the previous posts before you decide to come back. 4 spots were available and we know 3 that were taken. Go back into hiding.

Jim Copeland had his faults but he also recognize those that supported the progam during the "bad years". This group has one goal $. The more you give the more they will pay attention to you and I am not talking about $1000 Mustang Level members. THey are paying attention to the very high $ doners. Those of us who have 's supported the program in early 80's when times were good and contributed $150 and increased our donation as our situatiuons improved and stuck with the program through the 90' are now are being pushed aside. Mustang Athletics will once again become the play ground of the snobs as long as they are willing to write a check. If things go south again they will come crying on our shoulders. I recognize that it takes $ to have a first class program but this group is ignoring those who have kept the program afloat for the last 20 year. Many long time volunteer Mustang Club Fund raisers have dropped out of the volunteering because they are being made to feel unwelcome by Steve O and his new staff. I know I was one of them. Over the years my family has supported the program to the tune of $3000 to $5000 a year with contributions ,season tickets etc. If things continue on there current trend, my family will find other places for our money.

hopefully the very logical and straightforward posts by DM will prevail in this thread. If you're angry then you're angry...but the facts appear to be apparent in this scenario. And i have serious doubts about people not finding a space to drink cold beverages in the south area of the boulevard...
And yes, i have many friends who are pissed about the cost increase...and then they paid it and moved on. In the southern end...
And lastly...dammit i know many "blue hairs" who do it up better on the blvd then ppl my age (early 20's to early 30's) so why exactly are they not allowed to snag a spot? Young people leave their spots empty too...i can assure you that fact with authority... in the southern end.

MM65, the almighty $ rules everywhere...and you know it. SMU has the lowest or close to the lowest financial support by fans of any of the schools in our conference because of folks like you who think that somehow magically the program is going to get better because you are withholding your financial support. This program is not going to get better without the financial support of it's fans...that is just a fact of life. You want to whine about how much a spot on the Blvd cost...go over to TCU and see what a decent tailgating spot will cost you...try a number in the thousands. STOP being a bunch of whiners and support our teams both with your presence at the games and your financial support.
You go look at any of the successful college football teams and you are going to find the coffers full. Being in a BCS school certainly helps, but the TCU's of the world didn't get there by their fans withholding financial support. Think about that...

And I'm a referring strictly to the tailgate situation...nothing else. Other issues with volunteers, the amlighty dollar, etc can be left to people with more time than I.

Three words end this arguement. Well, maybe four. WE NEED MONEY DESPERATELY. Such a shame they're trying to make a little, what with the alum contributions just flowing in the door.

Whoa PK!!!!!
Now that could very well be a PonyFans Hall Of Fame statement.
It's tough.....but it pretty much says it all!

I hope you meant to say "presence". If I have to start bringing presents, I'm out of here.

Dear Ark:
The tailgate spot is taken care of with other monies. This means that you are in charge of Champaigne for game day. About 12 bottles of that good stuff that you served at your son's wedding!!!
I/we EXPECT you at every game along with the others. Jon will be joining us this year.
To anyone that is looking, Welcome to the BUS Stop. All are welcome and we will talk and will make adjustments weekly, as we get closer to our bowl game this year.

Let's see how it goes for the Tech game and UNT game. I like the boulevard exeperience. And I like the fact that in some other locations, they are charging for only per game and not for the season.
BTW, if it wasn't posted up here, that area for $240 near Doak Walker Plaza has been moved over to the fountain by Dallas Hall. Apparently, the construction pace wasn't going as fast as they hoped when they printed the first map. Oh well, it will still be a nice walk from there to Ford.
