Stallion wrote:Now there are exceptions authorizing appropriate bad sportsmanship especially toward cheaters. Examples: Of course, SMU got its share of fans taunting SMU with Car Keys. But an even better one was when the Aggies under Jackie Sherrill got caught cheating by sending cash via Federal Express to a high school star which was explained by an assistant as just wanting to help a kid out with his education during a crisis. Unfortunately, this occurred shortly before the UT/A&M game. At the game, thousands and thousands of Texas students waived Federal Express envelopes and screamed at Jackie that they needed some extra cash for their education. Classic. Sherrill was on his way out the Door-thouroughly embarrassed and humiliated.
What may have been even more embarrassing is that Mississippi State later hired him. Unbelievable.

The Barnes & Noble SMU Bookstore on Mockingbird stocks a shirt amongst all of the S.M.U. apparel that says "The University of Texas...because not everyone can go to S.M.U." The University of Texas lettering is in large type...but the part about S.M.U. is in much smaller type. It's in burnt orange & white and has the Longhorn logo on it. Guess that makes S.M.U. no better than Aggies. Those shirts should be banned from the store...or burned.
That shirt is dumb, much like any anti-TCU shirt. I always look at opposing teams/fans' shirts attempting to denigrate my school and usually the content is so sophomoric that I just point and laugh at them. Really, what's the point? Is it to get me riled up? I'd rather the team playing the actual game to be the ones fired up. Does it hurt my feelings? Not in the least. In fact, it makes me pity the person wearing it because more often than not the content of the shirt is born out of jealousy of my school's accomplishments.
Damn right it's dumb. There are a lot of them on the rack, though. Hopefully S.M.U. fans are smart enough not to buy them.

Well, then the shirt is funny, not dumb.; Which is probably the point. Then again, I guess UT fans don't need a sense of humor.

We have to accept that right ? Knowbody says much. Because it is UT ? He is certainly not " attempting to denigrate my school" as he states of others doing to his/TCU...... Right

I have that shirt. Worn it to a Texas Tailgate or two.
And the "TEXAS" is not in burnt orange. It's an orange-ish red. (Or red-ish orange.) And it actually says (when you read it closely) some thing like "The State of TEXAS" and in the small seal "City of Austin"... just so as SMU doesn't get sued I guess.
I like the shirt.
Just be glad you went to a school who's accomplishments are fit to be jealous of - I mean, I'd rather be pissed that we lost to lowly K-State last year, and be itching for retribution, than wondering just how badly we might fall on our face this year... what with so man media outlets picking the Ponies to do well.... well, you know I'm scared. Not used to the media agreeing with me that we're going to be good. But then again I have disagreed for years when they said we would be bad and they turned out right. Here's hoping they turn out right again this year.
BTW - the "Because everyone can't go to SMU" tee shirt worked out well last year the couple tailgates/games I wore it to.... I actually had to point out to people that I was wearing something that said SMU. But other than that, people thought I was just supporting UT, which was all right by me.

I think there are some clever shirts. I like the "mess with texas" shirt with the scores from OU beating UT 5 years in a row
And of course, the "Poop on Stoops" shirts in burnt orange. Juvenile, yes...but slightly funny

There were a lot of Kansas and Kansas State fans in attendance, because of recruits heading to those schools were playing. Saw one guy wearing a blue Kansas T-shirt that said:
(Front) I Bleed Scarlet and Blue, so .... (Back) I [deleted] Purple (with a KSU logo for the "i").
Juvenile, but funny.
This could easily be an SMU/TCU shirt
and I think I just may have to buy one if it ever gets made

Funny, I suppose, but both are short-lived.

And Penn State fans with their Sh-TT on Pitt shirts.
Speaking of Frogs, when I was at SMU and took freshman biology, I had two female lab partners who were squeamish about being the Frog assassin when it came time to pith the Frogs. I had no such qualms. Did you know a Frog's heart beats long after its brain dead? After about six weeks of killing frogs we had another experiment where we used ether on flies and I decided to just give the Frog anesthesia with the ether. It went out like a light. After we were done cutting the frog we just threw it in the trash. As you might guess the frog woke up later that night just as the cleaning staff was about to dump the trash can and it jumped up. The cleaning lady ran out of the room screaming. Apparently that person refused to go back into Fondren. This of course leads me to my T-shirt proposal. "You don't need a brain to be a Frog".

Let me also say I do not mean any disrespect to the University of Texas fans who visit this web site or any UT supporters who somewhat support our program. However, If I went on a UT web site with a mustang inside a longhorn, some people would be like what the ?

*Edited due to my poor reading comprehension abilities*
I think LF68 is a great contributor to the board and is a relentless supporter of SMU. Get off his back about his little logo. So what if he likes UT too. He obviously likes SMU more, so chill out.

He is a Longhorn fan that also cheers for SMU. We need everybody we can get. If Texas loses a fan, the line to get into the stadium just gets one person shorter. If we lose a fan, the echo just gets louder. I welcome him here. He has never said anything but positive remarks out SMU. I think the logo is cute. Kind of like Peruna swallowed Bevo.
