Agreed, let's wait until the wonderful day where SMU students and alum are fighting for tickets out in the streets before everybody gets to picky about a Longhorn cheering for SMU. I mean he tells a friend, and then they tell a friend, and they tell a friend and that's like five people right there!
That's totally right.... LF68 went on HornFans last year when Texas had a buy... said he was going up to Dallas for an SMU home game. Urged any Dallas area Longhonrs to come out and have a good time. The thread was lively... and you know what? A handful of people came out to the game. And to a man they all said they had a good time.
Heck, I have a great time going to the UT tailgates/games (when I can afford them)... and the folks at the HornFans tent are great. Especially, the husband and wife team who organize it. The husband says to me last year... I watched that SMU game last night... the whole thing... just for you.
They (and esp. LF68) make it harder and an harder for me to bare the huge ill will I had for Texas growing up. And living here and my wardrobe expanding exponentially with brunt orange tee shirts (you almost can't get a free tee shirt in this town that's not burnt orange), hasn't hurt.
Basically, LF68 and I made a pact years ago, well before I moved down here... that we would each, every year, go to one game of the other's respective team. To his credit he's becoem a huge SMU fan a lot quicker than I even became a "moderate enjoyer" of UT football.
His first season to see an SMU game was the 0-fer season. Can't believe he came back for more.
