The people on this board do not count. We talked about SMU before the ads came out.

Big yucks on that one.... I meant other people.

I agree...they look sharp. However, I would also put "SMU" on there somewhere and I don't really like "We don't tailgate. We Boulevard." If I hadn't been to an SMU football game, I would have no clue. It doesn't really make sense to the average person and, as mentioned previously, it sounds kind of snobbish. Are SMU fans too good to tailgate??? They could have said something like "Experience the Boulevard...it's more than a Tailgate".

They're not bumper stickers but I did find these in my stash of S.M.U. stuff. You'll see S.M.U. imprinted on the Mustang. I'm pretty sure the bumper stickers did, too.

Yeah... I couldn't recall whether they just said "Mustang Mania" and nothing else, but I went to sleep thinking about my family's old Dallas Tornados foosball table... we had a Mustang Mania bumper sticker on the side of it... it's true what they say about "sleeping on it" because when I woke up I was pretty sure that it had the running mustang with SMU in the middle.... seeing those items pretty much confirms it.

They did. At least the ones that did not have KAFM inside the Mustang. I have a stash of a few of both somewhere in the attic.

Mrydel's point in the second post of this thread cannot be overstated. Wait for all the elements to be released (TV ads, radio spots, print, etc.), and let the pieces all fit together before we trash a few billboards.

Something along those lines would have been much better. Doesn't have that sense of snobbery that people hate about SMU.

The bottom line is that this Ad campaign SUCKS! If you're a well known brand and you're at your peak you can afford to be a little vague in your approach to marketing. Here at SMU we're trying to rebuild our brand and attract new fans. Therefore the message needs to be more straightforward. The Richards Group is commiting "Highway Robbery" with this horrible campaign and you know it must have been expen$ive.

And what ad company do you work for? No wait, don't tell me. I am sure I already know since you have said nothing, just like you know the campaign even though it has not yet been released fully.
