all of you just [deleted] me off! you sit here saying how excited you are about the season starting... knowing that going into the tech game... there was a possibility that we weren't going to win.. SO WHAT.. we lost... tech is a good team.. they have always been a good team.. that's why they are in the BIG 12.. another thing that gets me.. is you all SUCK at cheering.. i was sitting there yesterday and maybe heard five people out of my whole section (103) cheer for the stangs.. if we dont' have faith in them and actually SHOW IT... do you think that's goig to help motivate them AT ALL?? and im almost positive that the only people i heard cheering.. the were cheering for their son that was out there!! so if you are just going to go tothe game to criticize and b*%$h the whole time.. we rather not even have you there...
if any players or coaches read this... I HAVE FAITH AND I AM BEHINDE YOU ALL THE WAY!! GO MUSTANGS!!

It wasn't that we lost, it was how bad we lost, and how the strengths of the team were not at all strong.
Even the doom and gloom crowd didn't predict that train-wreck we saw yesterday.

That's because there were probably only 4-5 SMU supporters in each section. I've seen us outdrawn by the opposition before, but never before where they engulfed the entire west side of the stadium. In years past with Tech/TCU, etc. they may fill the east side of the stadium, but they seemed to occupy at least 60-75% of the west stands as well.

then that basically just says that every smu fan was intemidated by the tech fans sitting by them..??
WHO CARES how many fans the opposing team has, that shouldn't stop anyone from cheering on their team...

So just because they're in the Big 12, that makes them a good team and unbeatable?
A 40 point loss shouldn't be expect against any team we play...even if it is a Big 12 team.

most of these fired up posters that try and guilt trip us, are players family members. with rare exception, these people will never be heard from again, as soon as litlle jr. is gone.

So where were all the SMU fans? I know SMU has more than 12K or so fans. The visiting fans are typically rowdier than the home crowd but this was the circle game of the year. There are still 2-3 big games left (UNT, UTEP and maybe UCF -- did v well vs NCSU) but this was the biggest. I understand that people bought extra tickets to support the program and that it was on Labor Day, which stopped my TTU in-laws from coming. However, I'm rather surprised that there were about 8K fewer fans at the game yesterday vs. the last Texas Tech visit.

No we really only have 12,000-14,000 fans. That's it. Its been like this for at least 5 years. We averaged 15,000 fans last year-throw out the visitors fans and that's what we got. SMU's attendance goes up and down depending on whether Tech, OSU, Baylor or TCU is on the home schedule. Of course Parents Weekend and Homecoming drive up attendance-but I'd say of home base fans are probably 12,000 maybe 12,500. Its a good thing we are playing NTSU this week who ought to bring a few fans otherwise Saturday we might hit 10,000 butts in seats.

You couldn't have said it better. TCU beat Tech last year and we're supposesd to be okay with a 40 point loss. One loss doesn't end the season but this loser mentality has to go.
