Ain't nobody having fun this weekend when both schools are in the pits. Maybe we should go back to the old end of season scheduling when this was a near Thanksgiving classic shootout in the metroplex. Naw, that was then, and now is nothing.

TCU will feel better about themselves after this weekend.

San Jose State? We haven't played them in 7 years and won't be playing them again unless it's in a bowl. I know you were being sarcastic, but effective sarcasm usually has some grounding in the real world.

We have no true rivals yet in the MWC, since we've been in the conference only two years. However, the annual BYU and Utah matchups are shaping up as future rivalries, similar to the emerging rivalries we had with Louisville and Southern Miss in C-USA before the Big East raided that conference into oblivion (and will likely again in the future).

Some TCU fans do want to drop SMU from our OOC schedule. Most don't. The athletics administration is in agreement with the majority. They want to continue the series with SMU.

Even if we continually suck from here till the end of time, and TCU becomes USC midwest style, it would be a real shame to drop a century old rivalry like that. I don't think it would happen, but it would be a shame because there really is a lot of history and it's still a great rivalry. See 2005 and 1997.

I agree -- both as to the historic value of the rivalry game and the entertainment value of the periodic upsets a la 1997 and 2005. Based on what I'm hearing out of the Athletics dept., TCU is willing to continue this series as long as SMU is willing.

We need to keep this rivalry going as long as it takes until we get tired of beating TCU.
