CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's biggest contribution as a Miami football player might have come in a game against Florida State, when he sacked Seminoles' star Charlie Ward to spark the Hurricanes.
"Turned the game around for us," said Miami coach Randy Shannon, who remembers that play vividly.
More than a decade later, Johnson is still helping his alma mater.
The 35-year-old wrestler-turned-actor and his wife, Dany Garcia Johnson, announced a $1 million gift Tuesday to Miami's football facilities renovation fund  the largest gift former Hurricane student athletes have ever made to the university's athletic department.
The Hurricanes' football locker room will be renamed in Dwayne Johnson's honor.

I meant an athlete who gives back financially to the school with a large donation for the football/basketball/whicheversport program.
Sadly, Hacksaw Duggan is in his twilight years.

what does an ex-player being an actor/wrestler have to do with the point 65 is making about recent ex-players that have become successful and/or high profile individuals stepping up and donating a million dollars to SMU athletics so that we can take the next step?

Jim Duggan and Fritz (the Iron Claw) Von Erich(aka Jack Adkinson). Don't know much about 'rastling but that's two Hall of Famers ain't it.

the Iron Claw is one of the greatest inventions ever to keep punk kids in place when they think they can take Dad at 5 years old.

Kathy Bates could perform a mean body slam. And she does not even need a mask to look scarey.

I don't care what he's cooking. I just don't want to smell it after it eats what he's cooking.

He made a nice chunk of change from his WWE days with his merchandise, in addition to be one of the top paid people in that organization. Plus, his name still has some star power, so I bet he gets a nice salary for his movies. Also, his wife is a VP for Merrill Lynch, so I'm sure she's also bringing home a nice chunk of change too.

A) He was a wrestler
B) He turned into an actor, about the same way Brian Bosworth did
C) His movies look unbelievably bad
So how in the world would you know what his WIFE does for a living?
Wait, she has to be more significant than he is...
And yes, I'd love to have his money and be able to make a similar donation to SMU.
I really shouldn't drink and type.
